The typical starting salary range for this position can vary depending on several factors such as geographic location, education, experience, and skill set.  The full salary range for this position is designed to provide employees with the opportunity to progress and grow within their positions and reflects the competitive market value for these positions across the national market. GBLI, also offers a total compensation plan including bonuses for all positions.

Typical annualized starting salary range for this position:

$85,500 to $143,000

This range reflects base salary only and is not inclusive of bonus potential and other compensation considerations as it relates to the role

Essential Duties & Functions

  • Supporting the implementation of new products by providing underwriting, pricing, compliance and coverage expertise
  • Monitoring ISO circulars, industry publications, and pending legislation to assess product impact and implement required updates
  • Conducting market research, competitor rate, coverage comparison and evaluation of new business opportunities
  • Enhancing products through the development of policy modifications, rate adjustments, manual updates, regulatory filings and responses to state objections in collaboration with actuarial, underwriting and regulator/ legal teams
  • Designing, testing, and implementing underwriting tools, forms, manual updates, and involvement with technology initiatives
  • Managing documentation and implementation of product and system changes
  • Supporting special projects as needed

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of commercial P&C insurance industry business experience either in an Underwriting or a Product capacity; knowledge of commercial products
  • E&S experience preferred but not required
  • Experience in the drafting of policy language
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience influencing senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience working with multiple insurance systems and the ability to rapidly learn new applications
  • Independent judgment and sound decision‑making grounded in product, regulatory, and business knowledge
  • Proven leadership and collaboration skills across cross‑functional teams
  • Experience leading cross‑functional initiatives to define business requirements and support product launches
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Strategic and innovative thinking, with demonstrated project management capabilities
