Manager, QC Microbiology, Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, Bothell, WA. Identify and mitigate risks in Quality Control (QC) laboratories, processes, and/or systems that could negatively impact the safety, identity, strength purity or quality of the product. Organize and prioritize microbiological laboratory activities. Assist in the design, implementation and continuous improvement of Quality Control systems and processes. Evaluate new technologies to promote effective and efficient operations, and comply with cGMP requirements. Troubleshoot assay performance, equipment, systems, and/or processes as it relates to ensuring the quality and compliance of the product. Support deviations, corrective actions preventative actions, change controls, process transfers, and other business drivers are supported in a compliant manner. Analyze trends and generate metrics using statistical analysis. Develop and manage a daily work plan for QC business needs. Supervise seven (7) Quality Control (QC) associates including Specialists and Associates and oversee the day-to-day activities related to in-process, final release, and stability testing of drug product, raw material testing, and/or contamination control. Hire, mentor and develop exceptional QC personnel.

40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Salary range: $119,884 - $137,940/yr. Standard company benefits.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Biological Science, Biotechnology, or a related field, plus five (5) years of post-baccalaureate experience.

The experience must include the following:

  • Aseptic processing;
  • Audit experience;
  • GMP (good manufacturing practice) knowledge;
  • Facility qualification for cleanrooms (EMPQ);
  • Microbiology assay knowledge; and
  • Environmental Monitoring knowledge.

The skills, knowledge and/or experience do not need to be maintained over the full term of experience required.

The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
