***Our headquarters are located in Stamford, CT, but the location of this position can be flexible with a preference for working in one of our office locations -- Stamford, CT, Chicago, IL, New York, NY, Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA. Remote candidates will not be considered.

Octagon, the world’s premier global sports marketing agency, is seeking a Manager, Social Strategy to join its growing digital strategy practice.

The Manager, Social Strategy will play a key role in crafting strategic and engaging social campaigns for our brand client in the CPG space (energy category). You’ll work hand in hand with the community manager to plan, execute, and measure campaigns centered around our clients’ organic social channels. If you have a balance of strategic and analytical skills within the social landscape, paired with creative thinking and excellent communication abilities, this is your next opportunity

THE WORK YOU’LL DO: 

  • Develop innovative and data-driven social media strategies for Instagram, TikTok, and X/Twitter
  • Build social campaigns based on insights, industry benchmarks, and emerging trends in marketing
  • Prepare monthly content calendars spanning multiple content streams, applying critical thinking to determine the optimal times and channels to post
  • Partner with the creative team to identify assets needed for social promotion across channels
  • Utilize social listening and measurement tools to research conversations and audiences, providing data-driven recommendations
  • Craft and present social strategy recommendations to clients and share the rationale behind the recommendations
  • Assess programs and provide valuable real-time insights and optimization strategies, along with post-campaign recaps
  • Spot trends, creators, and conversations and make recommendations on when the brand should jump in
  • Collaborate with the client team to communicate updates, address common issues, and provide insights that help shape future content

  • Supervise a community manager, offering mentorship and support to help them develop their skills

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • 3-4 years of proven experience in social media strategy and/or community management.
  • Highly proficient in crafting, executing, and optimizing social media campaigns and amplification strategies
  • Expertise in managing multiple projects from development through execution
  • Strong experience with social listening tools; has worked with platforms such as Infegy, Brandwatch, etc., and can pull out key findings and storytelling opportunities from the data
  • Highly skilled in crafting social POV’s for client programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Deep attention to detail and an understanding of the importance of accuracy, as much of the work is consumer and client-facing
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint and ability to build and deliver client-facing presentations
  • You are creative; you can generate innovative ideas and collaborate effectively with creative and design teams.
  • You’re ahead of what’s trending in social; what’s resonating with consumers, what platforms are growing, what content rises above the rest – and a passion for/expertise in sports, entertainment, music, and/or celebrity & lifestyle culture

This position pays $58,000- 65,000 and comes with a comprehensive benefits package.
