Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Software Development to lead our T Life App development teams. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in mobile application development, user experience design, and engineering team leadership.
As the Manager of Software Development for the T-Life App, you’ll have the opportunity to lead an innovative team working on mobile app and platform development that drives T-Mobile’s next-generation connected experiences. You will be responsible for the full app feature development lifecycle, from conceptualization to release, while ensuring top-notch performance, scalability, and an exceptional user experience. Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of mobile app developers.

  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that promotes innovation, agility, and continuous improvement.

  • Provide clear direction, support, and feedback to ensure the team delivers results aligned with T-Mobile’s business goals.

Mobile Application Development & Integration:

  • Oversee the development of iOS and Android mobile applications, ensuring seamless integration with backend systems and external APIs.

  • Optimize mobile apps and platforms for maximum performance, scalability, and reliability.

  • Collaborate closely with design teams to ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX concepts and their smooth implementation.

Project Management & Stakeholder Communication:

  • Define project scope, objectives, and timelines, ensuring that work you're doing meet business requirements.

  • Effectively manage project resources, timelines, and budgets to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.

  • Regularly update collaborators on project status, risks, and resolutions to ensure alignment across teams.

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement:

  • Establish and implement coding standards and best practices to maintain a high-quality codebase.

  • Conduct code reviews and provide guidance on design and implementation to ensure robust and maintainable solutions.

  • Solve and resolve technical issues swiftly to minimize disruptions and ensure seamless app performance.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or in a computer programming related field. (Required)

  • 4-7 years experience in an Analytics and Business Intelligence development environment. (Required)

  • 3+ years experience in managing or supervising a team of 15 developers or more. (Required)

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in mobile application development (iOS and Android).

  • 7+ years of experience in software development with expertise in backend API development and cloud services (AWS, Azure).

  • Expertise in mobile development technologies (e.g., Swift, Kotlin), front-end frameworks, and mobile app architecture.

  • Strong knowledge of backend, cloud technologies and integrations.

  • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills to guide and inspire a development team.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a track record of delivering high-quality software in a timely manner.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams and collaborators.

    Base Pay Range: $136,600 - $246,300

    Corporate Bonus Target: 15%

    The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

    At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
