Cyderes is looking for a hands-on Manager, Software Engineering to lead a distributed team building the next-generation Cyderes portal, bringing together capabilities including MDR and Meridian into a modern, scalable customer experience.
This is a highly technical leadership role with an approximate 70% hands-on / 30% leadership split. You will drive architecture, design, coding, code reviews, and deployments while also mentoring engineers, assigning work, and providing technical direction.
You will also help evolve Cyderes' agentic product development lifecycle, leveraging AI tools such as Claude to accelerate software development and engineering productivity.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of 7 software engineers across the U.S. and India.
- Design, architect, build, and deploy the next-generation Cyderes portal.
- Develop scalable multi-tenant web applications, APIs, dashboards, reporting, and workflow/ticket management capabilities.
- Build modern front-end experiences using React, TypeScript, and AWS Amplify.
- Develop backend services and APIs using Python, Java, and/or Go.
- Drive cloud architecture and application development using AWS.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership through architecture, coding, code reviews, troubleshooting, and production deployments.
- Help integrate and evolve MDR, Meridian, and other Cyderes capabilities within the new portal.
- Establish and improve engineering practices using AI-assisted and agentic development, including Claude.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and other technology leaders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with strong hands-on development experience.
- Experience leading engineers as an Engineering Manager, Technical Lead, or similar technical leadership role.
- Strong experience with AWS and cloud-native application development.
- Strong hands-on experience with React and TypeScript.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, and/or Go.
- Experience building multi-tenant SaaS/web applications, APIs, dashboards, and reporting applications.
- Experience with AWS Amplify preferred.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, scalability, security, and CI/CD.
- Experience with AI-assisted software development and tools such as Claude preferred.
- Strong communication and mentoring skills with experience leading distributed U.S. and India-based engineering teams.
- Cybersecurity, MDR, SOC, or security platform experience is a plus.
