Our Runtime organization owns the critical tier of GraphOS - Core Router and Apollo Federation - the underlying engine powering GraphOS, making it a highly performant, secure, governed, and reliable self-service GraphQL platform.
As an Engineering Manager in the Runtime organization, you will lead a newly formed team dedicated to ensuring Apollo’s GraphOS platform is prepared to meet the evolving challenges of scale, performance, and reliability.
What You'll Do
- Lead a growing team of engineers, ensuring high-quality deliverables while fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Establish clear goals and drive team-level execution by prioritizing and allocating resources to ensure timely delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions.
- Refine and drive the team’s charter, ensuring alignment with the organization’s long-term vision and priorities.
- Foster a high-performing engineering culture, encouraging innovation, autonomy, and professional growth.
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering leadership to shape the technical direction, refine roadmaps, and evolve the team’s structure as it grows.
- Partner with other engineering leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver impactful projects that strengthen the performance, reliability, and scalability of GraphOS.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to support hiring efforts and attract top engineering talent.
- Participate in an on-call rotation as necessary.
