Applications will be accepted until 04/30/2026.
Salesforce is looking for a Manager to join the Technology Risk and Controls team within Digital Enterprise Technology (DET). This is a high-impact individual contributor role at the forefront of transforming how Salesforce governs its technology landscape. You'll play a critical part in designing and implementing a revised IT Governance Operating Model — helping the organization build scalable, transparent, and effective oversight across its enterprise systems. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, partnering with cross-functional teams and leadership to bring a governance roadmap to life.
Responsibilities:
  • Support the end-to-end implementation of the enterprise IT Governance Operating Model, ensuring technology risk management practices are embedded across the organization's IT landscape
  • Lead the evaluation and categorization of enterprise technology assets to determine appropriate oversight levels, partnering with business units to define and communicate governance standards and compliance benchmarks
  • Act as a strategic liaison between stakeholder teams across the enterprise, fostering a culture of transparency and shared accountability for technology governance
  • Prepare reporting and insights for governance leadership and steering committees on program maturity, system compliance status, and emerging technology risks
  • Assist in designing a comprehensive oversight strategy for the program's steady state, ensuring long-term adherence to IT Governance standards across the system lifecycle
  • Partner with Leadership to monitor roadmap progress, identify obstacles, and propose creative "path-forward" strategies that fulfill governance objectives while preserving organizational agility
Required Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of experience in IT Governance or Risk Management, with a proven track record of leading cross-functional projects to design and implement IT operating models, including conducting technology risk assessments to categorize assets and determine oversight requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in program operationalization — specifically, translating high-level governance roadmaps into executable tasks, workflows, and compliance benchmarks
  • Familiarity with leveraging technology platforms and automation tools to develop scalable solutions for tracking system inventories, monitoring compliance, and managing governance initiatives
  • Expertise in identifying and addressing project-level obstacles, with a demonstrated ability to propose creative alternatives that fulfill governance objectives without disrupting business operations
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with experience preparing executive-level insights and progress reporting for Steering Committees or similar governance leadership bodies
  • Experience will be evaluated based on alignment to the Values & Behaviors for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer work, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant professional certifications such as CGEIT, CISA, or CRISC
  • Professional background in IT Audit, Risk, or Controls, with experience developing governance frameworks and advising business units on compliance requirements
  • Experience with Software Asset Management or integrating risk assessments into procurement workflows
  • Previous experience in a large-scale, decentralized technology environment

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
