Title: Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Location: Meridian Administration Office (on-site)

City: Bellingham, WA

Position: Full-time 40 hours, Monday – Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, non-exempt (hourly)

Compensation: The full wage scale is $22.34 - $30.67 per hour. Placement within the wage range is determined by a candidate’s relevant experience.

  • Full-time employees generally begin earning 18 days of PTO, increasing 33 days over time per our PTO policy.  You can rollover unlimited PTO hours into the next year.
  • PSL accrues at 1 hour per 40 hours worked
  • EIB accrues up to 32 hours per year (pro-rated based on hours worked) for both part-time and full-time employees, with a maximum of 480 hours

Job Summary: The Marketing & Communications Coordinator supports the development and execution of marketing and communications initiatives across digital and traditional channels. Responsibilities include creating and editing content, coordinating social media and marketing campaigns, maintaining website content, supporting public relations activities, monitoring campaign performance, and helping ensure consistent and effective messaging across FCN’s public-facing communications. The Marketing & Communications Coordinator works collaboratively with the Marketing & Communications team and internal departments to support FCN’s organizational objectives and maintain a positive, consistent brand presence.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Create, write, edit, and proofread a variety of marketing and communications content, including newsletters, website content, brochures, social media, press materials, and other promotional communications.
  • Coordinate and maintain the social media content calendar, monitor audience engagement, and help ensure consistent brand voice and messaging across platforms.
  • Assist with the implementation of marketing and communications campaigns that support organizational goals, across digital and traditional channels.
  • Monitor campaign performance and analytics to identify trends, successes, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain and update FCN website content using a content management system (CMS), such as WordPress.
  • Assist with public relations activities, such as distributing press releases and monitoring media and brand mentions.
  • Support the development of promotional materials, presentations, and other communications resources.
  • Assist with the coordination of promotional events.
  • Stay current on marketing, communications, healthcare, digital media, and industry trends, strategies, and best practices.
  • Ensure marketing and communications materials are accurate, professional, consistent, and aligned with FCN’s brand standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of marketing, advertising, communications, public relations, and digital marketing principles and best practices.
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy, reliability, and productivity.
  • Ability to identify target audiences and develop communications that effectively engage, inform, and motivate.
  • Understanding of digital platforms and their role in creating an integrated consumer and patient experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook and experience with Adobe Creative Suite or similar creative design tools.
  • Working knowledge of website content management systems, including WordPress.
  • Experience with graphic design and the ability to create visually compelling communications and presentations.
  • Knowledge of analytics tools and the ability to interpret data s.
  • Ability to solicit, receive, and incorporate feedback and new ideas.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve, take initiative, anticipate needs, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization and with diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • Ability to represent FCN in a positive, professional manner in person, by telephone, and in written and digital communications.
  • Demonstrated discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Basic photography and video editing skills are preferred.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, skills and experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related role.
  • Demonstrated experience developing written and digital content for a variety of audiences and communication channels.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, video editing software, WordPress or other CMS platforms, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using marketing or communications analytics tools to monitor campaign performance.
  • Knowledge of marketing and communications ethics, standards, and best practices.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to: stand; walk; sit; use hand to finger coordination, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.

Immunization Requirements: Employees are required to meet immunization standards in accordance with federal, state, and organizational health and safety guidelines, as applicable to the role. A simple process is in place for employees to request exemptions for medical or religious reasons.
