We are SLR Consulting (Americas), a 1500+ team of advisory, environmental, engineering, and regulatory professionals across Canada, the United States, and LATAM.  We deliver environmental and sustainability services to our clients through the integration of over 30 advisory, technical environmental, and engineering disciplines to help clients address some of their most complex challenges around sustainability. As our new Marketing & Communications Specialist you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal. You’ll be a key member of our Americas-wide team, helping shape and elevate our brand across Canada, the U.S., and Latin America. In this role, you’ll help shape marketing plans with a strategic mindset, recommend the right mix of tactics, and take ownership of results by proactively troubleshooting and improving performance.

We are looking for someone who loves working at the tactical level and putting in all the work required to make a campaign successful.

Sound judgement, accountability, and the ability to manage competing priorities will be critical to your success. Our team moves quickly, so we need someone who builds trust through competence, and brings initiative and tenacity to everything they do. 

Responsibilities:

  • Create clear, engaging communications and marketing content that supports key initiatives across Canada, the U.S., Brazil and Chile.

  • Develop modular, reusable materials such as one‑pagers, presentations, and digital assets that streamline support across teams.

  • Support brand visibility and market presence across the financial, industry & technology sectors in the Americas

  • Support the development and execution of client centric events (ie. Roundtables, Luncheons, webinars, capabilities presentations, etc.), marketing campaigns, including content for blogs, social media, and event materials.

  • Collaborate with regional teams to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment across all markets.

  • Translate technical or complex information into accessible, audience‑friendly content for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Monitor industry trends and audience preferences to inform content development and communication approaches.

  • Track performance and effectiveness of marketing and communication activities, providing insights/analytics that support continuous improvement.

  • Maintain tools, templates, and processes that reduce bespoke work and improve efficiency across teams.

  • Contribute to cross functional projects by providing clear communication guidance and ensuring materials meet brand and quality standards.

  • Proactive and solutions-focused, with the confidence to take ownership of marketing and communications work from brief to delivery.

Qualifications

  • 4–5 years of experience in a comparable role, preferably within the environmental services, engineering, industrial, or financial sectors, with an emphasis on sustainability-related initiatives

  • Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, or similar field

  • Experience with professional writing, including business communications etc.

  • Experience with content creation including blog posts, tradeshow materials, technical papers, publications etc.

  • Experience with Event Management and related communications strategies

  • Experience with digital platforms including HubSpot, social media and websites

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and strong MS Office skills

  • Experience with Analytics

  • Spanish language skills are an asset
