The Marketing Manager for Strategic Events plans and executes impactful events to drive demand, support pipeline growth, and enhance brand awareness. The role includes developing event strategies, managing budgets, collaborating with teams, and ensuring operational excellence across regional and corporate events.
The Strategic Events, Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, standardizing, and executing a scalable portfolio of high-impact events that drive demand, support pipeline growth, and strengthen the NRI brand. This role owns the strategy and execution for approximately 20–25 regional field events and 4 corporate marquee events annually, with a strong focus on operational excellence, repeatable frameworks, and measurable ROI.
This role shifts NRI from event volume to event effectiveness by building consistent processes, toolkits, and measurement models that enable growth and regional flexibility while maintaining brand and experience standards.
Essential Duties
- Develop and own a scalable, repeatable event strategy aligned to business priorities, regional needs, and pipeline goals.
- Create and maintain an annual event calendar balanced across regional and corporate initiatives.
- Build standardized event playbooks, templates, process timelines, and budgets to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Evaluate and refine event tiering system, success criteria, and investment levels to support smarter planning and growth.
- Plan and execute 25-30 regional field marketing events (executed in partnership with regional sales and marketing leaders) and 4 corporate events (e.g., hosted conferences, executive events, flagship brand moments).
- Ensure each event has clear goals, target audiences, messaging, and post-event follow-up plans.
- Balance hands-on execution with strategic oversight as scale increases.
- Partner closely with Sales, SDR, Partners, and Leadership to align on objectives, audiences, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with content, demand generation, and digital teams to ensure integrated promotion and follow-up.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for event-related planning and execution across the organization.
- Develop and manage event budgets, forecasts, and spend tracking across the annual portfolio.
- Research, negotiate, and manage contracts with venues, production vendors, and third-party providers.
- Optimize vendor relationships to support scalability, cost efficiency, and quality.
- Oversee all aspects of event execution including timelines, logistics, registration, production, onsite experience, and post-event wrap-up.
- Ensure events are delivered on brand, on budget, and on time.
- Maintain high standards for attendee experience while reducing bespoke, one-off approaches.
- Define and track event success metrics including attendance, engagement, pipeline influence, and ROI.
- Partner with SDR and sales operations teams to ensure accurate lead handoff and attribution.
- Lead structured post-event debriefs and reporting to capture insights and drive continuous improvement.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Event Management, or a related field.5–7 years of experience in B2B marketing events, field marketing, or integrated marketing roles.
- Proven ability to standardize and scale event programs across multiple regions.
- Strong project management, budgeting, and vendor negotiation skills.
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with sales and marketing teams.
- Data-driven mindset with experience measuring event performance and ROI.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting regional field marketing teams in a B2B environment.
- Experience with marketing automation tools (e.g., Marketo) and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce).
- Familiarity with virtual and hybrid event execution.
- Experience building event playbooks, templates, or centers of excellence.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams.
