Position Overview

The Marketo Field Engineering position is a client-facing role focused on helping clients to realize and quantify value driven by our Adobe solutions. This position will require technical and business knowledge in all Marketo features including integration methodologies, in-depth strategic and analytical skills. Field Engineers will work to gather and understand their client’s unique business objectives and provide advice on how best to meet their needs using one or more Adobe solutions. In addition, Field Engineers will collaborate cross-team to deliver recommendations, including technical and strategic services to help drive business impact and support business needs.

Key ResponsibilitiesMarketo Expertise & Strategic Consulting
  • Be a recognized authority (by clients, partners and colleagues) in Marketo Engage and integrated Adobe solutions following best practices and industry standards.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on the standard methodologies and best practices for B2B marketing automation.
  • Be able to quickly assess the client's technical environment and identify gaps in implementation versus business objectives and goals. Helping to formulate best practices based on findings.
  • Translate business use cases into scalable Marketo solution designs, balancing campaign flexibility, reporting needs, integration dependencies, and platform guardrails.
  • Review technical designs for alignment to KPIs, business objectives, and implementation feasibility, and document actionable recommendations to reduce launch risk and improve adoption.
Architecture, Integrations & Technical Guidance
  • Effectively analyze complex technical issues, identify the possible solution options, and facilitate the presentation and review of the options and our recommended solution with customers and partners.
  • Advise customers on architectural design development and B2B data models to integrate Marketo with other data sources and systems. (Salesforce.com, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, NetSuite, Oracle, etc.)
  • Provide troubleshooting and design guidance for advanced Marketo data structures, including custom fields, custom objects, and custom activities. Evaluate the processing, scalability, and downstream design implications of complex data models, and recommend approaches that support performance, maintainability, and long-term growth.
  • Review API usage patterns and integration architecture to identify quota, throughput, concurrency, and data processing risks in Marketo environments.
  • Demonstrate experience with integration technologies and patterns, including REST APIs, webhooks, Model Context Protocol (MCP), CRM synchronization, and interoperability across Adobe and non-Adobe systems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in integration technologies and techniques.
Automation, Campaigns & Platform Optimization
  • Evaluate Smart Campaign design and processing impact, including trigger vs. batch strategy, campaign qualification behavior, data update patterns, and operational guardrails for high-volume instances.
  • Support troubleshooting of advanced Marketo automation issues, including campaign recursion, processing delays, activity volume impacts, sync backlogs, and unintended behavior caused by complex logic or data design.
  • Support troubleshooting and best practice design guidance for Marketo’s design studio assets including emails, forms, templates, and landing pages.
  • Leverage various AI tools to optimize workflow, research solution features and functionality, and accelerate delivery.
Client Engagement & Delivery Management
  • Balance a high-volume portfolio of client engagements, ensuring each receives dedicated attention and timely execution.
  • Interact frequently with clients via Microsoft Teams and email—including interaction with marketers, analysts, web developers, and C-level executives.
  • Keep accurate daily records of project hours for weekly timesheet submission and up-to-date estimates of workload.
  • Use Microsoft Office and multiple AI agents to build client documentation and presentations.
  • Actively maintain the highest level of technical expertise by knowing the latest Adobe technologies through internally and externally available learning opportunities and self-study.
Required Skills & ExperienceAdobe Marketo & Technical Expertise
  • Deep technical knowledge of Adobe Marketo Engage, with expertise in architecture, data design, automation, integrations, governance, and advanced troubleshooting.
  • The capacity to understand business requirements and translate them into architecture, design and development activities for our most complex web and mobile based solutions.
  • Experience articulating technical solutions and how these solutions can solve client business problems to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Possess an innovative, problem-solving approach utilizing Adobe solutions.
Consulting & Communication Skills
  • The ability to adapt to and work effectively with a variety of clients and partners in challenging situations, employing strong facilitation skills while establishing credibility and trust quickly.
  • 7+ years of direct client consulting experience.
  • Be self-motivated, responsive, professional, and a champion of customer success!
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
AI & Workflow Optimization
  • Proficient in using agentic AI in their daily workflow.

The base salary range for this position is $90,000 – $150,000 annually. Actual compensation may vary depending on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
