Who We Are:

At Synapse Health, we're streamlining the durable medical equipment (DME) process.  We manage intake, documentation, routing, claims, billing, and patient support. Our model reshapes how DME is delivered and experienced.

Since 2016, with decades of industry and leadership experience, we've delivered tech-based solutions that help our partners to modernize operations, improve coordination, and reduce administrative burdens. By taking on operational and financial complexity, we're redefining how DME works for providers, prescribers, and patients. We are proud to offer work that matters, on a mission that matters.

What We Need:

Synapse Health is at an inflection point in its AI transformation. As we invest in building enterprise AI infrastructure, including the Claude Brain and AI-enabled workflows across the organization, we are seeking an MBA Strategy Intern to accelerate a defined body of high-impact work.
This is not a traditional internship. This role is structured as a project-based engagement designed to deliver executive-ready outputs within a defined timeframe. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, partnering closely with Strategy and cross-functional leaders to identify, evaluate, and shape AI-driven opportunities across the business.
The ideal candidate brings prior experience in consulting, corporate strategy, or business operations, and is comfortable navigating ambiguity, synthesizing complex information, and producing structured, actionable recommendations.

What You Will Do:

  • Identify, scope, and evaluate high-impact AI use cases across functional areas, from opportunity framing through testing and implementation
  • Conduct structured research, data analysis, and competitive benchmarking to inform recommendations
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand workflows and extract institutional knowledge (including ACTA-based sessions)
  • Translate business needs into AI-enabled solutions and implementation-ready recommendations
  • Contribute to the development of Synapse’s Claude Brain knowledge architecture, including structured knowledge capture and use case training
  • Develop and present executive-level deliverables, including memos, presentations, and strategic recommendations
  • Support AI adoption and change management efforts, including training materials, stakeholder communications, and company-wide initiatives (e.g., AI hackathon)
  • Assist in designing governance models, including ownership structures, quality control processes, and operational cadences

What You Have:

  • Currently pursuing an MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
  • Prior experience in consulting, corporate strategy, or business operations.
  • Structured thinking & problem framing — ability to break down ambiguous problems into clear frameworks.
  • AI fluency — hands-on experience using tools like Claude, ChatGPT, etc.
  • Executive communication & storytelling — ability to distill insights into clear, opinionated recommendations.
  • Stakeholder management — ability to build trust and navigate cross-functional perspectives.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in ambiguity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

What Sets You Apart:

  • Deep familiarity with AI tools
  • Consulting or strategy background.
  • Knowledge management or documentation experience (playbooks, SOPs, structured systems).
  • Change management sensibility and ability to drive adoption.
  • Healthcare or health tech exposure.
  • Familiarity with the ACTA method or similar techniques.
  • Experience facilitating workshops or working sessions.
  • Comfort with OKRs, MBR cycles, or strategic planning rhythms.

Compensation:

  • This is a full-time summer internship (June–early August), 40 hours/week.
    Compensation is $1,000 per week.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
