The Mechanical Engineer II will support product design, perform mechanical analyses, coordinate validation of designs, prepare documentation, and support continuous improvement efforts within the company.
Job Description
1. Support Product Design and Development. Contribute to the design, development and selection of hardware components utilizing mechanical engineering principles, theories and techniques. Assigned duties may include design and development of specific packaging modules, mechanisms, components or subsystems to meet design requirements. Provide technical direction to design support personnel. Receive limited direction and instruction from senior engineering staff.
2. Perform Mechanical Analyses. Maintain up-to-date working knowledge of company standard analysis tools. Assure adequate analysis to achieve performance objectives. Perform static, dynamic and heat transfer analyses of mechanical structures. Analyze data and document results.
3. Coordinate Validation of Design. Coordinate the fabrication and environmental testing of design hardware. Design and procure prototype hardware. Coordinate the environmental testing of hardware including: vibration, shock, thermal, fatigue and others as required. Review and document results. Assist in product transition to Operations as required.
4. Prepare Documentation. Generate, review and approve the technical content of drawings, engineering specifications, reports and other documentation associated with the mechanical design. Prepare design review packages and present for internal review.
5. Support Continuous Improvement. Ensure compliance with IEWS' Quality System and the Mechanical Design Process. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in mechanical engineering disciplines. Recommend improvements that produce cost effective and producible designs
6. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required. Make independent technical decisions on work consistent with objectives
Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $86580 - $147186
