This is a remote position.

This role supports both active client engagements and upcoming automation projects. Qualified candidates will be considered for immediate openings as well as future opportunities aligned to system implementations, upgrades, and expansion initiatives.

Overview

This role drives the design and engineering of mechanical systems supporting material handling operations, enabling efficient and reliable automated material flow across distribution centers and manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed layouts and mechanical designs for conveyors, sortation systems, and structural components
  • Create equipment specifications, RFQs, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Perform system calculations (load, throughput, structural integrity)
  • Support installation, commissioning, and system validation activities
  • Conduct site visits for field measurements and retrofit assessments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design integration
  • Support cost estimation and value engineering efforts


Requirements
Qualifications
  • 3–8+ years in material handling or industrial mechanical design
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools
  • Experience with conveyance and automated systems design
  • Understanding of system integration across controls and software
  • Strong problem-solving and design optimization capabilities

Education Requirements:
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Technical certifications or military experience highly valued
  • Equivalent hands-on experience widely accepted

Preferred:

  • EIT (Engineer-in-Training)
  • PE (for senior roles)
Location: Remote or based at client sites depending on project requirements.
