About this role 

The Mechanical Maintenance Team Lead is responsible for leading the pump team and overseeing the safe, efficient operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of pumping systems and related equipment. This role will provide day-to-day direction to the team, ensure productivity and quality standards are met, and help plan and execute maintenance projects while managing resources, timelines, and priorities. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with industrial pump systems, strong troubleshooting and technical skills, and the ability to lead, develop, and motivate a team. Experience with HVAC systems is preferred, along with knowledge of safety regulations and practices. This position is based in Rockdale, TX, with working hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

What you’ll be doing 

• Supervise and guide the pump team in daily operations, ensuring productivity and quality standards are met.
• Oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of pump systems and equipment.
• Plan and execute projects, manage resources, and ensure timely completion within budget.
• Implement and monitor safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Evaluate team performance, provide feedback, and implement improvement plans.
• Prepare and present reports on team performance, project status, and operational metrics.

What you’ll have 

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in pump maintenance and repair.
• At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or team lead role.
• HVAC experience preferred (either commercial or residential)
• Experience working with various types of pumps and related systems in an industrial setting.
• Deep understanding of pump systems, including centrifugal, submersible, and positive displacement pumps.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software related to pump systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and practices.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage projects to meet deadlines.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks, and manage performance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members, management, and clients.
• Relevant certifications in pump maintenance and repair, such as Pump Systems Matter (PSM) certification, are preferred.
• Safety certifications, such as OSHA, are preferred.
• EPA certifications preferred.

Physical requirements and work environment 

• Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods 

• Ability to lift and move equipment as needed (50 pounds) 

• Ability to work onsite in a mining or data center environment (heat, noise, etc.) 

• Exposure to high noise levels and varying temperatures 

Safety Requirements 

• PPE & Compliance: Strictly adhere to all site safety protocols and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots). 

• Hazard Awareness: Proactively identify, report, and mitigate potential workplace hazards or unsafe conditions. 

• Standards: Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and internal safety training. 

• Organization: Keep all work areas clean and free of obstructions to prevent workplace accidents.
