Position Overview:

This position will play a critical role in identifying, evaluating, and executing strategic acquisitions in the K–12 software space. The successful candidate will collaborate cross-functionally with teams across finance, product, legal, and senior leadership to help drive inorganic growth through well-informed and strategic acquisition strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Market & Target Research: Conduct in-depth research on the K-12 EdTech market to identify potential acquisition targets aligned with the company strategy. Analyze industry trends, competitive landscapes and emerging technologies to inform M&A strategy. Leverage external data sources (e.g. market reports) to assess target companies positioning and growth potential.
  • Outreach and Relationship Building: Develop and maintain relationships with potential targets, industry analysts, advisors, and other external stakeholders.
  • Target Evaluation: Analyze financial statements, operating metrics, customer profiles, and product fit of potential targets to assess strategic alignment.
  • Financial Modeling: Work with sponsor deal team to build and maintain financial models to evaluate deal scenarios, valuation ranges, and post-acquisition impact on financial performance.
  • Due Diligence: Support the due diligence process by coordinating cross-functional teams, collecting data, and evaluating risks across financial, legal, operational, and technical domains.
  • Integration Planning: Collaborate with Acquisition Integration. Lead to ensure smooth integration planning and post-close support.

Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field required (MBA or CFA a plus).
  • 2–4 years of experience in M&A, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or strategy.
  • Strategic thinker with a passion for education and technology
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills (DCF, precedent transactions, comparables, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with the education technology or K–12 market is preferred, but not required
  • Excellent research skills with the ability to synthesize data from diverse sources
  • A self-starter with strong business judgment
