Location: 95% remote, 5% onsite in either of these locations (Lanham, MD | Washington, DC | Ogden, UT | Farmers Branch, TX)

Security Clearance: Must be eligible to possess MBI (IRS Background Investigation) clearance. Active MBI clearance is preferred.
Job Summary:
The Mid-Level Full Stack Developer supports the development, enhancement, and maintenance of IRS APIs by implementing backend services, data integrations, and supporting frontend components. This role works closely with senior engineers, data engineers, and AI engineers to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure API solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance REST and GraphQL APIs in accordance with IRS standards.
- Implement backend services using languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, or Spark.
- Support frontend development using modern frameworks when required.
- Participate in data mapping, validation, and object modeling activities.
- Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms using OAuth and JWT.
- Write and maintain automated tests for APIs and services.
- Support API versioning, deployment, and monitoring activities.
- Collaborate with data engineers and AI engineers on integrated solutions.
- Contribute to technical documentation, API specifications, and test plans.
- Demonstrated ability/evidence of high volume of accurate code production.
- Competency in Openshift Serverless, AWS Serverless, Kubernetes, GitHub, and JIRA.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3 to 6 or more years of full stack development experience.
- Experience developing and consuming APIs.
- Proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language.
- Familiarity with cloud environments and containerized applications.
- Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with microservices architectures.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker.
- Exposure to federal IT environments or regulated systems.
- Experience working in Agile or DevSecOps teams.
- Ability to contribute to growth & business development activity as necessary.
