Position Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and execution of ETL jobs and data conversion pipelines using SAP Data Services (BODS)
- Work from data mapping specifications and source-to-target documents to build and validate data transformations
- Write and compile code and construct database objects (views, ETL staging tables, indexes, load scripts) based on documented design
- Implement, document and maintain data migration, integration and mass update components (dataflows, data stores, jobs, workflows)
- Execute unit, system, and regression test plans; log, investigate and assist in resolving data defects and issues
- Participate in data profiling and data quality assessments to identify anomalies, gaps or cleansing requirements
- Support cutover and go-live activities: data extracts, validation, reconciliation, and post-migration checks
- Maintain and update technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles for built solutions
- Collaborate with functional analysts, business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and other developers to gather and validate requirements
- Contribute to process improvement, automation of repetitive tasks, and reuse of common ETL components
- Provide end-user or test-team support for data validation and help develop user training materials when needed
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 5+ years of experience working in the Information Technology (IT) field
- 5+ years of experience with SAP Activate methodology
- Experience with SAP BODs (dataflows, jobs, transforms, datastore, workflows), ETL and Data Migration processes including preparation of conversion plan, timing of data loads, object dependencies, and sequencing of tasks
- Experience with SQL skills for query writing, data profiling, and troubleshooting in relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, or similar)
- Experience with SAP data structures and common modules (e.g., FI/CO, MM, SD)
- Experience with data mapping, data modeling fundamentals, and data cleansing techniques
- Experience with scripting (e.g., Shell, PowerShell, Python) to support automation and batch processing
- Experience creating and executing test plans, data reconciliations, and validating conversion results
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- SAP certification and/or formal training related to SAP BODS and/or SAP data migration
- Experience with having good documentation habits with the ability to create clear technical artifacts (design notes, runbooks, test evidence)
- Experience working with SAP extraction methods
- Experience with other ETL tools or integration platforms (Informatica, Talend, ODI, etc.)
- Experience with data quality tools and concepts (profiling, matching, deduplication)
- Experience with control systems (Git, SVN) and CI/CD basics for ETL deployments
- Experience with cloud platforms and/or data lake architectures (AWS, Azure)
- Experience with performance tuning of ETL jobs and database queries
- Experience with strong verbal and written communication skills
