We are hiring a Mobile Developer to work on a production fintech/trading mobile application used by real customers for account management, investing, trading, payments, onboarding, verification, analytics, and support flows.

The primary focus is Android development in a modular Kotlin-based codebase, with opportunities to contribute to broader mobile architecture and collaborate on iOS feature parity where relevant.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and improve mobile features, primarily on Android, across trading, investing, account management, onboarding, payments, documents, notifications, and user settings.
  • Build reliable Android UI using Android Views/Fragments and Jetpack Compose where appropriate.
  • Work with ViewModels, coroutines, Flow, use cases, gateways/repositories, and clean separation between presentation, domain, and data layers.
  • Integrate and maintain backend communication using Retrofit, OkHttp, Kotlin Serialization, and related networking tools.
  • Implement local persistence and background behavior using Room, DataStore, Paging, WorkManager, and lifecycle-aware APIs.
  • Maintain integrations with Firebase, analytics, crash reporting, push messaging, feature flags, payment/KYC providers, and customer engagement SDKs.
  • Write and maintain unit tests and Android-related tests, improving coverage around critical business and user flows.
  • Investigate crashes, performance issues, logging, analytics events, and production defects.
  • Collaborate with iOS developers where needed to align user flows, business logic, analytics events, and release behavior across platforms.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, feature planning, release preparation, and CI/CD improvements.
  • Work closely with product, backend, QA, design, compliance, and analytics stakeholders.
  • Keep the codebase maintainable by following existing project style, avoiding unnecessary refactors, and making small, safe, well-tested changes.

Requirements

We are looking for a Mobile Developer with strong hands-on Android experience and interest or experience in broader mobile development. The main focus of the role is Android, but iOS experience is a strong plus. Experience building and maintaining production Android applications, ideally in fintech, trading, banking, payments, or another reliability-sensitive domain.

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
