MovieWeb is a top destination for fans of television and movies, providing engaging and informative coverage of the entertainment industry.

MovieWeb is looking for an experienced News Editor to help lead our fast-paced reporting. The News Editor will oversee daily news output, manage a team of writers, and ensure timely, factual and engaging coverage across film, television and streaming. This is a hands-on editorial role for someone who understands digital traffic strategy and can balance speed with quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign, edit and publish Streaming, Film and TV News articles.
  • Monitor industry trends and identify timely coverage opportunities
  • Manage, mentor and offer feedback to a team of freelance writers.
  • Ensure editorial accuracy and audience relevance across all published content.
  • Uphold MovieWeb’s editorial standards and maintain a high level of journalistic integrity.

Requirements
  • 3+ years of professional editing and writing experience in entertainment.
  • Strong understanding of film, TV trends and fandom culture.
  • Exceptional editing, fact-checking, and storytelling skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple writers and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working with CMS and familiarity with SEO.
