About the team and the role eBay, Inc. seeks MTS 2, Software Engineer in Bellevue, WA

What you will accomplish: Build highly available, scalable user facing applications and RESTful Public APIs. Develop systems using Java, Scala. Operate within eBay’s internal open source community and work on a variety of projects and codebases. Build, test, and deploy code in a continuous manner. Execute as part of a multi-functional Agile team that rapidly delivers iterative value to customers. Contribute to technical conversations and debates and decide upon approaches and tools to resolve issues. Evangelize, mentor, and promote engineering standard methodologies throughout the company. Identify project risks, quantify risk/benefit relationships and provide alternative solutions as well as risk mitigation. Maintain proficiency in Test Driven Development, clean code, and software craftsmanship. Learn new external and internal technologies as the need/opportunity arises. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

What you will bring:

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field plus five years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Salary: $190,486.00-$262,900.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
