This role is for one of our clients

Compensation: $42-$78 per hour

1. Overview

We are seeking experienced musicians and music professionals with strong Swedish-language expertise to support the evaluation of generative music AI systems in collaboration with a leading AI research organization.

In this role, you will assess AI-generated lyrics and music-related outputs across a range of genres, evaluating them against detailed quality standards. Your expertise will help determine whether generated content is natural, creative, culturally appropriate, and aligned with the requested prompt and style.

The ideal candidate has professional experience as a songwriter, lyricist, performer, composer, music journalist, or other music-focused professional, along with strong familiarity with the Swedish music landscape.

  • Evaluate AI-generated lyrics across different musical genres and styles.
  • Compare generated lyrics with published songs to identify potential similarities or originality concerns.
  • Rate lyrics based on criteria such as:
    • Overall quality
    • Creativity
    • Originality
    • Prompt adherence
    • Linguistic and cultural authenticity
  • Assess whether Swedish lyrics sound natural and authentic to native or near-native speakers.
  • Evaluate word choice, phrasing, slang, idioms, regional expressions, and cultural references.
  • Identify awkward, unnatural, repetitive, or contextually inappropriate language.
  • Apply detailed evaluation guidelines consistently across different assignments.
  • Provide clear feedback explaining the reasoning behind ratings and assessments.
  • Use your knowledge of Swedish music, songwriting, and contemporary culture to distinguish high-quality outputs from generic or unnatural content.
3. Required Qualifications
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Swedish.
  • Strong ability to understand and follow detailed written instructions in English.
  • Professional or substantial experience as a:
    • Songwriter
    • Lyricist
    • Musician or Performer
    • Composer
    • Music Journalist
    • Music Critic
    • Other relevant music professional
  • Strong knowledge of the Swedish music scene, including contemporary artists, genres, and musical trends.
  • Ability to critically evaluate lyrics for quality, originality, linguistic naturalness, and cultural relevance.
  • Access to headphones or studio monitors suitable for critical listening.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to provide consistent, well-reasoned evaluations.
4. Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • Formal education or training in music performance, music theory, composition, or a related discipline.
  • Credited, commercially released, or published songwriting work.
  • Broad familiarity with contemporary Swedish:
    • Music genres
    • Sub-genres
    • Artists
    • Songwriting styles
    • Cultural and linguistic conventions
  • Experience evaluating, reviewing, editing, or critiquing creative content.
  • Previous experience with AI evaluation, data annotation, model testing, or human-feedback projects.
5. Project Details
  • Role: Music & Lyrics Expert - Swedish
  • Start Date: Immediate
  • Duration: Up to 6 months
  • Work Arrangement: Fully Remote
  • Commitment: Flexible; most contributors work approximately 20 hours per week, with no fixed maximum.
  • Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on project requirements and performance.
