Job Description

The Director of National Planning & Scheduling sets the vision and standards for how DPR plans and schedules work across the company. Provides enterprise leadership for planning and scheduling to enable reliable, predictable project delivery across the company. Establishes and evolves the company-wide vision, strategy, and governance for planning and scheduling practices, ensuring alignment with operational priorities and execution needs. Partners with executive and functional leaders to embed planning discipline into how work is sequenced, constraints are removed, and progress is communicated across all regions and business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishes and leads the enterprise-wide vision, strategy and operating model for planning & scheduling aligned with organizational objectives while fostering cross-functional engagement and accountability.
  • Provides leadership and direction to regional planning and scheduling leaders to ensure consistent adoption of standards, practices, and expectations.
  • Develops and governs scalable planning systems, workflows, templates, playbooks and performance metrics to improve plan reliability and schedule outcomes.
  • Leads cross-functional initiatives that integrate planning and scheduling practices with field operations, quality, Virtual Design and Construction, self-perform work, and prefabrication, while ensuring we provide and continuously elevate best-in-class training across teams to build capability and consistency.
  • Oversees tracking and analysis of schedule performance data to identify trends, assess risk, and drive continuous improvement, ensuring we systematically learn from our projects and their challenges and incorporate those lessons as updates to the Best Builder Framework.
  • Coaches senior leaders and project teams to strengthen planning behaviors, field adoption and execution discipline.

Travel 50% to jobsites based on project need and timing

Education and Experience

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.

Work Experience

  • 15+ years of experience in construction operations, including leading planning and scheduling practices for large, complex projects at scale required.
  • Experience developing, administering, and maintaining project plans and schedules using field planning systems such as CPM, pull planning, takt, short interval planning, visual planning and schedule performance measurement required.
  • Experience with enterprise-level planning strategies including model-based visual planning, schedule risk analysis, Last Planner System®, and integrated schedule management and reporting solutions preferred.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and coaching experience across diverse teams and stakeholder groups preferred.

Anticipated starting pay range:

$220,000.00- $295,000.00
