Boost Mobile is looking for a Network Engineer I to provide hands-on support for the deployment and operation of our cutting-edge nationwide 5G network. This network features a state-of-the-art IP routing infrastructure leveraging advanced technologies such as BGP, MPLS, SR-MPLS, Segment Routing, EVPN, high-speed dark fiber, and interface speeds up to 400Gbps. As part of our skilled network engineering team, you will contribute directly to the success of building and supporting our nationwide IP network, connecting over 23,000 cell towers on the Boost Mobile 5G network. - Work independently to understand and drive network troubleshooting efforts
- Work as part of a te am for the delivery of network change and project activity
- Take direction from senior members of the team for network implementations and operations
- Document change activity through methods of procedures and formal change requests
- Work cross-functionally with other groups supporting the 5G infrastructure, including cloud operations, network security, network automation, data center and transport services, and the network operations teams
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications/electrical/computer Engineering
- Network experience in large enterprise or carrier space a plus
- Professional networking certifications a plus - CCNA or equivalent
Skills and Qualifications:
- Network troubleshooting methodologies
- IP Addressing (IPv4, IPv6, subnetting)
- Network services (DNS, DHCP)
- Network firewalls
- IP routing (ISIS, OSPF, BGP)
