CLA is currently seeking a Nonprofit Audit Director in our National Assurance Technical Group to support our Nonprofit practice. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical review experience working with nonprofit organizations including those subject to Uniform Guidance. This individual should demonstrate a deep understanding of the operations and standards unique to these entities, Uniform Guidance, and generally accepted accounting principles. This role reports directly to the Managing Principal of National Assurance and can be located in any state.

How you’ll create opportunities in this role:

  • Interact and collaborate with others across all levels of the Firm and on occasion with clients

  • Perform the quality control review of assurance engagements

  • Analyze observations and findings, perform root cause analysis, and proactively collaborate to develop process improvements

  • Be a technical resource for engagement teams assisting in research and consultation for the application of professional standards and generally accepted accounting principles,

  • Assist in development and maintenance of assurance methodology and practice aids for implementation of new standards and related learning,

  • Develop thought leadership for internal and external users

Qualifications for this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 7+ years of experience in a public accounting environment or equivalent

  • CPA or equivalent

  • Current on professional standards, Government Auditing Standards, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and Uniform Guidance

  • Problem solver and solution provider

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills

  • Solid analytical and decision-making skills

  • Ability to communicate complex concepts to engagement teams and clients

  • Ability to use various assurance research products effectively

Our approach to compensation emphasizes collaboration and career growth.  We pay competitive wages and view compensation as an investment in our people.  Factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and knowledge may impact position of pay within the range.  These same factors may cause starting pay to be below or above the posted range.

Wage Range for Minnesota - 88,000.00 -165,000.00 USD

Wage Range for Illinois - 94,000.00 -171,000.00 USD

Wage Range for Massachusetts - 109,000.00 -184,000.00 USD

Wage Range for Colorado - 104,300.00 -171,000.00 USD

Wage Range for California - 108,000 - 190,000 USD

Wage Range for Washington - 116,900 - 159,000 USD
