The Senior Network Engineer designs and integrates communications networks for military operations, focusing on transport and routing across various systems, including RF and SATCOM.

Position Summary:
The Senior Network Engineer designs, integrates, and sustains tactical and enterprise communications networks supporting Army and joint operations. This role focuses on hands-on engineering of transport, routing, and network services across RF, SATCOM, and terrestrial systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement tactical and strategic communications networks, including DISN/GIG integration
- Engineer routing, switching, and transport solutions across deployed and lab environments
- Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and network services
- Develop and validate network architectures for adjacent, higher, lower, and coalition forces
- Integrate voice, video, and data systems (VoIP, Call Manager, tactical voice systems)
- Support SATCOM and LOS/BLOS transport integration into IP networks
- Perform network performance analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization
- Conduct protocol analysis using tools such as Wireshark and network sniffers
- Support lab environments, fielding efforts, and operational troubleshooting
- Develop network diagrams, configurations, and technical documentation
- Support test events, exercises, and field deployments
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
- 7–12+ years of network engineering experience
- Strong expertise in:
- Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, Multicast)
- LAN/WAN, VLANs, network segmentation
- Cisco technologies (IOS/NXOS, ASA, ISE, UCS)
- Experience with tactical communications networks (WIN-T or similar)
- Experience integrating SATCOM and RF transport into IP networks
- Hands-on troubleshooting in lab and field environments
- Active Directory and virtualization (VMware) familiarity
Desired Certifications
- CCNP (CCIE preferred)
- Security+ (or equivalent DoD 8570 compliance)
Travel
- Up to 20–30% (fielding, exercises, integration events)
