Description of Work

The primary purpose of the Nurse Supervisor is to provide professional nursing service to JFK-ADATC patients. The NS is an integral part of the Nursing Department and assumes the responsibility for the nursing needs of the patients across an entire shift. This position is directly accountable to the Director of Nursing for all work performed. Stays within the guidelines of the NC Nurse Practice Act, Code of Ethics for nurses, Medical and Nursing Policy and Procedures and the regulations and standards set forth by the State, CMS and TJC. The NS administratively and clinically supervises nursing staff personnel on their assigned shift. They must work with management to oversee the daily functioning of the facility but assuring adequate staffing coverage and directing staff as they perform their duties.

  • Considerable knowledge of management and supervisory methods, practices, and techniques and nursing education programs

The primary purpose of the Assistant Director of Nursing position is to assist in managing the Nursing Department by overseeing daily functions, providing staff coverage, representing the Nursing Department in the absence of the Director of Nursing and to apply highly developed clinical skills toward direct patient care as needed.

This position will work 8-hour days, (8:00am-4:30pm), Monday-Friday, occasional weekends and holidays, and on-call

This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.
 

Per G.S. 126-5 (c1) (37), this position is Exempt from all provisions of NC General Statute Chapter 126 (State Human Resources Act) with the exception of Articles 6 and 7. About the Facility:

JFK is a 68-bed inpatient treatment facility designed to meet the needs of adults with substance use disorders from the 44 westernmost counties in North Carolina. The facility treats individuals with substance abuse and psychiatric diagnoses. JFK is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations as a Behavioral Health facility and certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as an inpatient psychiatric hospital.

Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina and three years of nursing experience, including one year of experience in a Nurse Supervisor capacity.
