Provide senior-level Office 365 managed services: analyze customer requirements, design and deploy Office 365 tenant architectures, maintain M365 workloads, resolve tier 3/4 incidents, and configure security tooling (Defender, Sentinel, Intune). Act as long-term advisor to public-sector clients.

In this role, you will be supporting impactful projects that make a difference for our country.
The Managed Services Senior Consultant is partnering with clients to form a long-lasting relationship while assisting with their growth across the Office 365 platform. This would cover a wide breadth of tasks from technical writing, security assessments, licensing questions, or anything in or related to the Office 365 or security product stacks in Microsoft Cloud. Expertise in Office 365 and related core technologies including but not limited to Security Tools and Administration in Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Sentinel, Cloud Identities, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID Connect, and EMS, are required.
As part of the Managed Services team, you are responsible for helping to foster the long-term relationship and partnership with our clients. Going beyond just doing good technical work, and into being a good co-worker, partner, and advisor.
Responsibilities
- Surface and analyze customer business requirements.
- Translate requirements into an Architectural design and influence the deployment of key infrastructure components
- Design, construct, configure, and maintain all facets of an Office 365 Tenant
- Plan and Execute an end-to-end implementation of the target workloads
- Maintain a thorough understanding of existing and emerging Office 365 and related core technologies
- Be up to date on new technologies within Office 365 that could benefit customers
- Break/Fix escalated tier 3 and tier 4 issues from our clients related to M365
- Security analysis and configuration of core security tools in the Microsoft Suite, using Defender and Sentinel as the medium to do so.
Education Certifications and Experience
- Exchange: Should have real-world, hands-on experience delivering messaging and collaboration solutions utilizing Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 within large complex environments.
- Office 365: SME for applications across the Office 365 Stack such as OneDrive for Business, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, Forms, Office Suite, Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, Entra, Sentinel, Defender, Intune etc.
- Azure: SME with Entra ID, Intune, Cloud App Security, Conditional Access, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, Azure Virtual Desktop
- Intune/Endpoints: SME across Intune with endpoint and device management. Should know how to configure and maintain endpoints using Configuration Policies, Compliance Policies, Platform Scripts and the like.
- Security: SME expertise with security posture and administration is a huge plus. Hands on experience working as a security analyst or administrator would be ideal. Should understand how to work Security escalations through to completion in platforms such as Defender and Sentinel. Knowledge of MITRE or similar security postures/framework experience is a plus. Comfort level with creating custom KQL queries and searches as needed.
- Any Microsoft or Technical certifications are a positive and should be noted, especially related to the core technology stack of M365.

Salaries for Consultants at Planet Technologies range from $120,000 and $210,000. Several factors will impact final pay offered to a successful candidate including but not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, clearance level, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, training, etc.
