Lead the Value-Creating Climate Transition for Global Enterprises

Are you ready to help Fortune 500 companies unlock competitive advantage, reduce cost, and accelerate profitable growth through sustainability? At ERM—the world’s leading sustainability consultancy—we work with executive teams to embed climate and sustainability strategy into core business models, improving resilience, operational efficiency, and long‑term value creation.

We are seeking a Partner to join our North America leadership team and drive the next wave of growth in our Corporate Sustainability & Climate Change (CS&CC) practice.

Why This Role Matters

Climate and sustainability are no longer standalone ESG topics—they are profit levers that influence market positioning, cost structures, investor expectations, and enterprise value. ERM is at the forefront of this evolution, guiding global organizations in capturing business value from climate transition—operational cost reduction, energy efficiency, supply‑chain resilience, decarbonization planning, and new sustainable product or market opportunities.

What Your Impact Will Be

• Shape and lead ERM’s value‑creation approach to sustainability and climate strategy.

• Advise Boards and C‑Suites on how climate and sustainability priorities influence capital allocation and operational efficiency.

• Drive commercial growth through offerings that reduce client costs and unlock new revenue.

• Develop high‑performing teams with both technical and commercial sustainability skills.

• Strengthen ERM’s position as the most trusted partner for business-led sustainability transformation.

What You'll Bring

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, engineering, science, business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

• 15+ years’ experience in consulting or corporate sustainability leadership.

• Proven success advising global companies across major sectors.

• Demonstrated ability to win and deliver multi-million‑dollar portfolios.

• Deep expertise in climate strategy, carbon accounting, risk assessment, and disclosure frameworks.

• Strong business acumen and ability to link sustainability to cost savings and enterprise value.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic client relationships and expand ERM’s impact across North America.

• Develop sustainability strategies that drive measurable business value.

• Originate and deliver high-impact engagements including decarbonization, climate risk, and investor-focused disclosure.

• Drive commercial strategy and significant revenue growth.

• Collaborate with global teams to deliver integrated sustainability solutions.

• Recruit, mentor, and inspire high‑performing teams.

Why Join ERM as a Partner?

  • Meaningful equity ownership and significant financial rewards.

  • Influence ERM’s strategic direction and shape the future of sustainability consulting.

  • Opportunities to provide thought leadership on critical climate challenges.

  • A global platform to leverage your expertise and client relationships for meaningful impact.

For the Partner, Decarbonization Strategy & Implementation position, the anticipated annual base pay is $181,000 to $244,000 (USD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, parental leave, medical, dental, vision, life, disability, AD&D insurance, 401(k) or RRSP/DPSP, and other applicable benefits to eligible employees.

Note: Bonuses, commissions, and other forms of additional compensation are not guaranteed and subject to the sole discretion of ERM and its policies and procedures.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
