OVERVIEW:

This role will be responsible for managing a team of associates, will be accountable for the accurate and timely payment of indirect or direct spend, and consistent operation of subsystems currently feeding into ERP. Additionally, this role is required to work cross functionally with all areas of the organization and all levels to support business initiatives.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Indirect Spend Processing:

    • Responsible for the day to day operations resulting in the processing of payments related to indirect/direct spend; specifically entails analyzing invoices for accuracy and eligibility for payment and ensuring timely payment according to contractual obligations

    • Resolve issues/conflicts between internal departments as well as external vendors is required

    • Work cross-functionally to reconcile the assessment of tax and proper general ledger account recording for financial records

  • Team Leadership and Development:

    • Manage a team of associates at varying skill levels

    • Lead team & individual development to build a talent pipeline for organizational needs and foster a positive working environment

    • Work closely with direct reports to both train and mentor their development, identifying strengths/ opportunities and work with manager to identify opportunities for growth; includes both maintaining and monitoring KPI's to ensure associates are performing to expectations and providing coaching/mentoring as needed thru weekly TB's, mid-year and end of year performance evaluations

    • Focus on individual growth contributing to the overall team growth is essential

  • Systems/Technical Skills:

    • Oversee the operation of subsystems that have direct feeds into main ERP system; identify system disruptions and solve/escalate disruptions as appropriate

    • Liaise with external vendors as well as internal IT partners to ensure system is operating effectively

    • Provide system feedback & enhancement suggestions/improvements as needed to support requests from internal business partners and vendors

  • Policy/Procedure/Strategic Initiatives:

    • Provide subject matter expertise in all discussions that impact Expense Payables; includes meeting with various levels of senior management within the company and represent the Expense Payables department which requires a strong level of executive presence and ability to command an audience

    • Identify areas of operational opportunities, build business cases to present to leadership and work cross-functionally with key stakeholders in both Finance and throughout the organization to monitor business trends and help develop systematic & procedural improvements that will allow the group to best serve our internal and external customers; includes leveraging peer and best-in-class practices to make recommendations

    • Leveraging knowledge of financial controls, demonstrate critical thinking & analysis when supporting ad hoc requests; capable of driving change to recognize greater efficiency and profitability 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business/Business Management, Finance, Accounting or related field

  • 5 - 7 Years Experience

  • peopleSoft Financial Required
