Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking Engineering Managers (Level K) in Everett or Renton, Washington to lead high-performing BCA Payloads & Flammability Engineering teams providing a variety of technical solutions and complex project oversight in support of existing and future commercial airplane products.
The successful candidate will have strong engineering expertise, ability to guide multi-faceted projects to completion, possess outstanding communication skills, and demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships. Assignment of final responsibility could be in any one of the 6 primary organizations supporting Integrated Cabin and Cargo Engineering - 737, 767/777, 787, Seats Integration Team, Interiors Responsibility Center WA, or Payloads Core. Final determination will be based on best fit and alignment of experience.
In this role you will:
  • Keep safety and quality at the forefront of all activities.
  • Manage employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Mechanical & Structural Engineering.
  • Lead development of cabin and interior solutions for the Payloads and Flammability Engineering function in support of current and future commercial airplane products.
  • Provide oversight to complex projects; integrating multiple considerations including: suppliers, interfacing engineering teams, production system needs, regulations, and airline requirements.
  • Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures and set operational goals.
  • Acquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvements.
  • Develop and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manage, develop and motivate employees.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in Aerospace Industry.
  • Experience with project management methodologies.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects from conception to completion.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 3+ years of experience leading aerospace design engineering teams and integrating within a global supply base and product value streams.
  • 3+ years of experience within Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
  • Knowledge of Boeing products and processes.
  • Knowledge of aircraft Cabin and Cargo products.
  • Experience with commercial aircraft certification processes and regulations.
  • Proven ability to lead with the Boeing Values.
  • Demonstrated ability in team building, coaching, and employee development to enhance team performance and engagement.
  • Solid technical background with the ability to guide and mentor the team.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $147,050 - $198,950
