The Role

We're looking for a Technical Sourcer who loves the hunt for exceptional technical talent. You'll be the research powerhouse behind our recruiting success, identifying engineers and technical leaders across companies from pre-seed to pre-IPO. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys detective work, gets satisfaction from finding that perfect candidate others missed, and wants to be part of building world-class engineering teams at every stage of company growth.

Note: This role is fully remote, but will require on average 4-5 hours of overlap a day within the 9-6pm PT timezone due to client, team and candidate overlap.

What You’ll Own
  • Candidate Research & Identification: Find technical professionals (engineers, product managers, data scientists) using Gem, Juicebox, Pin, and other AI sourcing tools.

  • Multi-Channel Sourcing: Use various sourcing methods and tools to build comprehensive candidate lists

  • Personalized Outreach: Write engaging messages to potential candidates and conduct initial conversations to gauge their interest

  • Market Research: Research companies and teams to identify potential candidates and understand competitive landscape

  • Pipeline Building: Create strong, diverse candidate pipelines that support our clients' people-first hiring approach

  • Initial Screening: Conduct brief phone/video calls to assess basic qualifications and interest before passing candidates to recruiters

  • Sourcing Strategy Testing: Experiment with different outreach messages and sourcing approaches to improve response rates and candidate diversity

  • Collaboration: Work closely with recruiters to understand role requirements and help build inclusive teams for our clients

What You’ll Bring
  • Experience: Maybe you studied Computer Science, Business, or something completely different—or maybe you didn't study at all. What's more important to us is that you're naturally curious, love digging into research, and have experience reaching out to professionals (whether in recruiting, sales, business development, or research roles). You understand that great sourcing is part detective work, part relationship building, and you're excited to specialize in the technical talent space.

  • Tools & Technology: You love experimenting with a variety of AI tools and have a willingness to learn new platforms.

  • Research Skills: Strong research abilities and attention to detail. You're good at finding information online, cross-referencing data, and building comprehensive profiles.

  • Basic Technical Knowledge: Understanding of different technical roles and ability to distinguish between software engineers, data scientists, product managers, etc. You don't need to be technical yourself, but should understand these roles well enough to identify qualified candidates.

  • Communication: Excellent written English for crafting outreach messages that get responses. You should be comfortable having initial conversations with technical professionals.

  • Organization: Ability to manage multiple sourcing projects, track candidate interactions, and maintain accurate records.

  • Remote Work: Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision and able to meet deadlines consistently.

Contract Terms

This is a 6-month independent contractor position with strong potential for extension or permanent conversion based on performance and business needs. We believe in growing with talented people who share our passion for building exceptional teams. This contract role does not include standard company benefits. Competitive compensation provided with placement-based bonuses.

And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
