About the Role

At Abnormal AI, our mission is to stop cyber attacks—and that mission demands teams that are not only high-performing but also adaptable, connected, and empowered in a fully distributed, high-trust environment.

As a key member of the People Business Partner team, you'll drive both the strategic vision and execution of programs that scale our organization, elevate leadership, and reinforce a culture that enables people to do the best work of their lives. What makes this role unique is our commitment to leveraging AI and technology to make our people systems smarter, faster, and more human.

You’ll work across functions to design and execute people strategies that are optimized for a remote-first, cybersecurity-first organization—balancing high growth with intentionality, empathy, and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do
  • Partner closely with People Business Partner leadership and business leaders to scale teams, elevate talent, and drive high-performing, values-aligned culture across a distributed global workforce.
  • Use AI-driven people analytics and diagnostics to identify organizational opportunities early—and drive interventions that shape structure, leadership, and talent outcomes.
  • Coach leaders to navigate organizational complexity, scale high-trust teams, and apply remote-first leadership practices that foster psychological safety and clarity.
  • Build leadership capability through enablement programs that combine AI-driven learning, peer development, and just-in-time coaching systems.
  • Collaborate across People COEs (Talent, DEI, Ops, Enablement, Total Rewards) to design holistic employee experiences—from onboarding to development to retention.
  • Enhance and protect Abnormal’s unique culture by embedding scalable rituals, values-based recognition, and remote collaboration practices.
  • Contribute to the evolution of People team programs using emerging tech—including generative AI, nudges, and workflow automation—to scale quality and speed across the employee lifecycle.
Must Haves
  • 7+ years of progressive People Team experience with a focus on scaling organizations, developing leaders, and navigating high-growth change.
  • Proven success in fast-paced, remote or hybrid tech environments, ideally in cybersecurity or enterprise software.
  • Deep experience with organizational design, talent management, leadership coaching, and cultural transformation.
  • Strong fluency in data-informed people strategies, with experience using dashboards, engagement platforms, or predictive people analytics tools.
  • Experience partnering with global leaders and familiarity with international people practices, compliance, and remote leadership dynamics.
  • Track record of coaching leaders through ambiguity and shifting business priorities—balancing candor, empathy, and speed.
  • Strong program management skills—able to prioritize, execute, and scale people initiatives that have business impact.
  • Clear, concise communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functionally and build trust at all levels.
Nice to Have
  • Experience integrating AI tools into People workflows (e.g., talent reviews, coaching enablement, onboarding, internal mobility).
  • Exposure to designing remote-first onboarding and development journeys that embed company values and culture from day one.
  • Background in supporting technical, product, or GTM organizations during periods of rapid scale.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
