People Partners play an integral role on the HR Business Partner team, partnering with leaders, managers and employees to create a culture where people thrive. Working hand in hand with HR Business Partners and Employee Relations, People Partners are enablers for enhancing talent density, employee experience, and spearheading processes that build organizational health across Dropbox

We are seeking a People Partner to provide best in class support and partnership to Dropbox leaders and employees. Your work will focus on: talent density, performance management, employee relations, workplace investigations, leaves of absence/accommodations, employee experience, offboarding, people projects and other operational tasks. You will also analyze important people data and metrics, including attrition and performance management trends, and create insights and recommendations for leadership. In your work, you will uphold our values and amplify the success of our business and products through our most important asset: our people. This role reports directly to the Head of EPD HR Business Partners (dotted line reporting to our Head of Employee Relations).

Responsibilities
  • Partner closely with HRBPs in EPD on employee relations, performance management, accommodations, offboarding, and people programs
  • Serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day employee relations issues in the EPD org
  • Manage performance management tracking and partner with HRBPs to support managers and employees through the end-to-end process
  • Own and manage the accommodation process for employees and managers, coordinating with our external leave provider and internal Benefits team
  • Lead the offboarding process for EPD employees: track and process exits, conduct exit interviews, and generate quarterly attrition insights and recommendations
  • Support HRBPs with people-related programs, projects, and ad hoc employee experience initiatives
  • Provide HR administrative support (e.g., agreements, reorgs, Workday updates) and assist with key People rhythms such as annual reviews and talent reviews
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in HR, with a strong foundation in core people practices ideally within a SaaS environment
  • Proven track record supporting managers and employees through performance management, including coaching on fair and principled practices
  • Strong judgment in employee relations, with an ability to balance empathy, practicality, and business needs
  • High attention to detail and a data-driven mindset, with experience analyzing trends in attrition, performance, and organizational health
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, including the ability to navigate complexity and nuance
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to tailor your message to diverse audiences
  • Comfortable delivering difficult messages clearly and compassionately
  • Proven ability to build trust and influence employees, leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion in handling sensitive matters
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Adaptable and resilient in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities
  • Experience working effectively in a remote-first team and partnering cross-functionally with HRBPs, Legal, and other People team members
  • A team-first mindset with a "we, not I" approach
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for team gatherings and offsites

Though remote is our primary way of working, meaningful in-person connection and collaboration is a critical part of Virtual First. Our Seattle Studio is a place for teams to come together to host meetings, off-sites, and build community.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
