The Opportunity

Flock’s Permitting Department is an essential and key player for the growth and expansion of the company as a whole. Our Permitting Managers are the driving force to getting approvals and issue permits from various municipalities which ultimately leads to installations, satisfied customers, and most importantly, supporting our mission to help solve more crimes. As we continue to bring Flock into more communities around the world, our Permitting team will be the MVP in the industry of LPR and so joining our mission now couldn’t be better!

  • Concisely and efficiently communicate requirements to a variety of third parties including government agencies, homeowner associations, and operations teams.

  • Assist with version control and ensuring permit packages are meeting customer specifications.

  • Act as the main point of contact for permit inquiries, feedback, and revisions to internal and external stakeholders for the assigned territory

  • Leverage data & reporting to track, improve, and provide transparency into performance

The Skillset
  • 3-5 years experience in permitting; experience working in public works, utilities, or government agencies preferred.

  • This candidate must be located in Central Time Zone.

  • Prior experience in project management and highly organized with the ability to manage and balance many complex projects at once

  • Ability to overcome objections and problem-solve quickly to ensure prompt issuance of permits

  • Excited about working with fast-paced, constantly evolving processes, and comfortable with ambiguity

  • Comfortable with pivoting between projects & responsibilities

90 Days at Flock

We are a results-oriented culture and believe job descriptions are a thing of the past. We prescribe to 90 day plans and believe that good days, lead to good weeks, which lead to good months. This serves as a preview of the 90 day plan you will receive if you were to be hired as a Permitting Manager Flock Safety.

The First 30 Days

  • Review assigned jurisdiction requirements, meet your peers, and learn the products we are deploying

  • Learn the systems we use to manage our business and become proficient in all

The First 60 Days

  • Drive to reduce cycle time for AHJ review

  • Increase throughput of submissions

  • Assist associates to overcome obstacles

90 Days & Beyond

  • Improve relationship with challenging AHJ thereby improving processes and reducing cycle time

  • Maintain accurate forecasting

  • Become expert in all jurisdictions and reduce need to utilize third-party vendors for permitting services

The Interview Process

  1. Our First Chat: During this first conversation, you’ll meet with a recruiter to chat through your background, what you could bring to Flock, what you are looking for in your next role, and who we are.

  2. The Hiring Manager Interview: You will meet with your potential future boss to really dive into the role, the team, expectations, and what success means at Flock. This is your chance to really nerd out with someone in your field.

  3. The Panel: Learn more about the team, responsibilities, and workflows. You should be prepared to speak about past projects, how you collaborate and communicate with others, and how you live our values. Depending on the team and role you are interviewing for, you may meet with several teammates as well as cross-functional partners.

Salary & Equity

In this role, you’ll receive a starting salary of $90,000 as well as stock options. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, as well as market indicators. Your recruiter will discuss this in-depth with you during our first chat.
