As Pharmacy Counsel, you will advise on pharmacy operations, ensure compliance, manage regulatory risks, and collaborate across teams to support business initiatives.
Ro is seeking an experienced attorney to serve as Pharmacy Counsel, advising on state-level regulatory compliance, embedded within our growing legal team. This role will be the go-to legal partner for pharmacy operations and compliance across our owned and partner pharmacy networks. This is a strategic, high-impact role with significant cross-functional exposure, working closely with pharmacy operations, corporate quality, and other key stakeholders.
What You’ll Do:
- Help lead Ro’s 50-state + DC pharmacy law compliance strategy, advising on both day-to-day pharmacy operations and long-term business initiatives.
- Own the legal relationship with pharmacy operations and corporate quality teams as their primary point of contact.
- Ensure pharmacy compliance by advising on licensure, inspections, DSCSA obligations, and safety and quality assurance requirements.
- Monitor and analyze state Board of Pharmacy developments, assess regulatory risks, and shape Ro’s government relations strategy to proactively manage regulatory change.
- Help lead responses to state inspections, investigations, regulatory inquiries, and other legal escalations.
- Partner closely with senior FDA counsel to ensure pharmacy operations comply with FDA regulations and guidance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, operations, and quality teams to accelerate new product launches, partnerships, and facility expansions.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.5–9 years of experience advising on state pharmacy law.
- In-depth experience with legal and regulatory frameworks relevant to pharmacy operations, including compounding.
- Experience working in-house, preferably with or within online pharmacies or health tech platforms.
- Comfortable navigating and advising on ambiguous or evolving regulatory environments.
- Track record of successful collaboration across legal, regulatory, quality, and operations teams.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and give practical, risk-based legal advice quickly.

The target base salary for this position ranges from $191,700 to $230,000, in addition to a competitive equity and benefits package (as applicable). When determining compensation, we analyze and carefully consider several factors, including location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
