The Role:

As a Pharmacy Technician Externship Coordinator, your primary responsibility is to coordinate the placement of students with externship sites. You'll oversee the process from the moment a student begins their externship journey through the end of their externship, ensuring all required documentation, scheduling, and communication is completed successfully.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage externship placements by confirming site assignments, preparing placement paperwork, scheduling interviews (if required), and setting student start dates.

  • Ensure student compliance with onboarding requirements, including background checks, drug screens, Board of Pharmacy licenses, vaccinations, and externship paperwork.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for students and externship sites, providing updates and addressing concerns.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with externship sites by understanding their capacity, preferences, and onboarding processes.

  • Maintain accurate records in internal dashboards, tracking student progress and site availability.

This Job Is for You If You:

  • Are a Certified Pharmacy Technician

  • Have 3+ years of hands-on pharmacy tech experience and a solid understanding of state Board of Pharmacy guidelines and the National Certification exam (NHA or PTCB)

  • Have 1+ years of experience coordinating externships or managing student placements within a higher education institution.

  • Have Front, Adobe Acrobat Pro and/or Google Suite experience

  • Self motivated/driven able to quickly learn and jump into the role

  • Strong communication skills and high attention to detail
