THE ROLE

Re-Commerce Operations Manager

The Returns, Quality and Fraud team owns key parts of the customer journey, including product quality, returns, disposition, and recovery. Our goal is to build scalable processes that maximize recovery while protecting customer experience and brand standards.

The Re-Commerce Manager owns the resale of returned, excess, and refurbished inventory across third-party marketplaces. This role is responsible for turning un-restockable inventory into sellable product through strong execution in grading, presentation, listing quality, pricing, and channel strategy.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on operator with strong inventory judgment, product presentation skills, and marketplace selling instincts. They may come from retail operations, merchandising, resale, marketplaces, stockroom, or other inventory-led environments. They are organized, data-driven, and comfortable moving quickly while balancing recovery, sell-through, margin, and brand integrity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own day-to-day selling across 3P marketplaces, handling the entire product lifecycle from marketplace listing, putaway/stocking/storage, and fulfillment of item once sold
  • Lead a small team responsible for product capture, listing quality, and item presentation
  • Drive recovery, sell-through, and margin through pricing, listing, and channel decisions
  • Set standards for photos, descriptions, condition notes, and overall listing quality
  • Partner with warehouse or 3PL teams to move product from intake to live listing and sale
  • Track performance across recovery, aging, sell-through, and listing quality
  • Improve processes that increase resale efficiency and reduce liquidation
  • Monitor marketplace trends, fees, policies, and demand signals
  • Ensure grading and disposition decisions align with resale potential and brand standards
PERFORMANCE DELIVERABLES / KPIs
  • Recovery Rate (%): Percentage of original PCOGS recovered through re-commerce channels
  • Net Recovery Profit Margin ($ / %): Recovery revenue minus all associated costs (fees, labor, refurbishment, fulfillment)
  • Throughput Timing: Average days from return processing to active marketplace listing
  • Sell-Through Rate: Percentage of listed inventory sold within 30, 60, 60+ day timeframes
  • Associate Processing Throughput: Managed Associate UPH to capture listing details
  • Product Listing Quality: Accuracy and completeness of listings (condition, photos, descriptions)
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2+ years of experience in retail operations, inventory, merchandising, resale, marketplaces, warehouse, logistics, fulfillment, or similar environments
  • Experience leading a small team or owning a workstream with clear quality and productivity goals
  • Strong understanding of inventory flow, product condition, returns, and resale economics
  • Good judgment in pricing, presentation, and channel strategy
  • Data-driven and comfortable using performance metrics to improve outcomes
  • Strong cross-functional communication and execution skills
  • Preferred: hands-on experience with 3P marketplaces, resale platforms, or live-selling environments
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach with or without reasonable accommodation

Pay Range: $71,000 - $79,000

All posted ranges are reflective of base salary and may vary depending upon experience level and location. Bonus and equity may also be provided for eligible roles.
