Primary & Small Molecules (PSM) EHS DirectorThe role can be done from any location in Europe, Singapore or the US that is close to a GSK locationThe deadline for the job posting is the 28th of May in 2025Job purpose:

The purpose of this role is to provide leadership and set direction for EHS, encompassing all aspects of GSK environmental, health and safety activities for the GSC (Global Supply Chain) manufacturing group, Primary and Small Molecules.

The role scope will include all manufacturing sites within Primary and Small Molecule manufacturing group together with EHS leadership of any investments, acquisitions or divestments. This role will act as the singular point of contact for EHS and will interact with key senior leaders from GSC; Research & Development and Global Functions. This role will also provide oversight for the India external supply network.   

Key responsibilities:
  • Integrate EHS Strategy into Primary & Small Molecules’ business strategy and lead its execution to positively impact business performance, maintaining our EHS license to operate; in compliance with GSK EHS standards and local legislation
  • Drive visible leadership of EHS for Primary & Small Molecules through EHS Councils and Leadership Teams
  • Provide support for the management of high severity EHS risks, specifically process safety, within the network of sites and satellite locations 
  • Provide oversight for India External Supply and Warehouses as part of local-to-local supply chain 
  • Provide leadership to sites EHS, Engineering Leaders and respective subject matter leads
  • Collaborate with other functions (i.e., Quality, Eng, GPS, HR, IT, Procurement, BD) to integrate EHS into the business strategy, risk mapping process and business continuity plans
  • Assess and identify weaknesses in risk management, internal control framework and risk-based standards compliance, provide leadership to remediate and drive performance
  • Manage EHS assessments and due diligence during business development (divestitures, closures and acquisitions)
  • Coach leaders; leadership team members; site directors/site leadership team on how to improve EHS performance through leadership
  • Provide EHS support including performance management, audits and investigations
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science
  • 10 years – pharmaceutical experience primarily in manufacturing or chemical manufacturing
  • Experience leading cross functional teams
  • 5 years’ experience in EHS leadership across multiple, global manufacturing sites, COMAH/ Seveso and IPPC regulations
