Position Overview
At Thrive, a Principal Architect is responsible for devising implementation strategy, assessing client readiness and orchestrating Thrive engineering teams as the technical project lead dedicated to Thrive’s Enterprise clients. This position’s primary objective is to oversee the successful technical execution of projects as defined within Thrive Project Plans, Orders and Scopes of Service to the satisfaction of Thrive’s Enterprise clients. In addition to these responsibilities and objectives, the Principal Architect is expected to play a role in hands-on engineering efforts and technical decision making as needed.

Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.

Responsibilities
- Technical ownership of Thrive Enterprise client projects related (but not limited to) the following:
- Microsoft 365 Platform
- Thrive Security Service Offerings
- Cloud Infrastructure Platforms (VMWare, Azure, AWS)
- Network Infrastructure
- Windows Server Technology
- Line-of-business Applications
- Ability to assess and implement technologies across diverse computing environments for Thrive enterprise clients
- Analyze an unfamiliar client environment to determine the most secure, efficient and successful path to complete documented project goals
- Work through the project process to reach a successful outcome by:
- Coordinating and prioritizing engineers from multiple distributed teams
- Successfully translating customer business needs into technical realities
- Performing hands-on engineering as necessary
- Pivot technical approach to meet shifting priorities set by Thrive enterprise clients
- Clearly and professionally communicate project plans, potential impacts and testing procedures to Thrive enterprise clients at both a technical and an executive level.
- Track and manage time effectively to accomplish multiple ongoing projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree, Technical Degree or equivalent work experience
- 6-8+ years of Administrative and/or Project experience with Windows Server and related technologies
- 6-8+ years of workstation, network, and/or public cloud support experience
- Experience with monitoring and remote management tools
- Experience working with highly complex technical projects involving multiple workstreams
- Self-motivated with ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Experience using ServiceNow (or other project management software)
- Experience in ITIL methodology and change management processes
- Willingness to improve team process and contribute to team and company initiatives
