Principal Associate, Partnership Marketing (Remote)
Capital One is seeking a motivated Principal Associate to join our Partnerships Field Marketing Team. In this role, you will support the development of strong relationships with retail leaders within an assigned territory to help drive engagement with the credit card program. You will collaborate with store leadership and key internal partners (Marketing, Customer Experience, Compliance, etc.) to ensure a consistent and effective experience for consumers and store associates related to the card program, while supporting the rollout of regional strategies into stores.
The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong focus on execution. They will be innovative, organized and demonstrate the ability to support business results through collaboration and superior service.This is a client facing role ideally based in either New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts or Connecticut. The candidate will support clients located both within and outside of these territories, with the expectation of 75% of the time in store, to include occasional evenings and weekends for marketing activities that correlate with highest store traffic periods, with overnight travel as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support retail partner leadership by helping to deliver card program strategies in stores
  • Build strong working relationships with store leaders and team members to understand daily operations, challenges and customer needs
  • Observe and share insights to refine card sales models and contribute to broader sales strategy and customer improvement
  • Partner with internal Marketing Team and retail partners to assist in the execution of in-store marketing and customer experience
  • Support to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory compliance requirements related to card issuance
  • Gather and report on card sales performance metrics to help identify opportunities for growth
  • Collect and share customer insights and learn about marketing trends to support retail partners in understanding customer needs and purchasing behaviors
  • Collaborate with retail partner leaders to address and support problem-solving around card performance
  • Deliver effective in-store education and communication to store associates in support of card program initiatives
  • Contribute to presentation development, including building decks and applying storytelling techniques to highlight insights, performance and opportunities

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Flexibility and attention to detail. Must be able to manage multiple projects and navigate changing priorities while maintaining excellent work
  • Possesses strong communication and influence skills: verbal and written

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
  • At least 1 year of experience in the financial industry
  • At least 2 years of experience in a client facing role in either B2B sales or retail leadership role

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience
  • 3 years of retail experience, either directly for a retailer or in a field-based role supporting retailers
  • 2 year of experience in the financial industry
  • Proficiency in using Salesforce.com
  • Proficiency in using G Suite
  • At least 3 years of experience in a client facing role

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Sales Territory: $106,700 - $121,700 for Prin Assoc, Client Development
New York, NY: $128,000 - $146,100 for Prin Assoc, Client Development
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
