About the Role:
We're seeking an experienced Principal Machine Learning Engineer to join our Engineering team. In this role, you'll lead the architecture and implementation of advanced machine learning capabilities within our Dragos platform. You will work alongside Data Scientists and Data Engineers to design, build, and deploy sophisticated AI/ML systems that enhance threat detection, automate analysis workflows, and provide actionable intelligence to our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement production-grade machine learning systems that expand Dragos product capabilities, with special consideration for resource-constrained environments.
- Design and optimize AI/ML model architectures for Industrial Control System (ICS) / Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity use cases, including threat detection, asset classification, behavioral analysis, and natural language query systems.
- Build robust pipelines and implement AI/ML approaches for security-relevant NLP, temporal pattern analysis, and recommendation systems.
- Lead technical initiatives for AI/ML infrastructure improvements, including monitoring, testing, and deployment frameworks.
- Collaborate with Data Scientists to translate research concepts into production-ready AI/ML systems.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of engineering experience with at least 6 years focused on machine learning implementations.
- Deep expertise in designing and building production AI/ML systems that deliver measurable business impact within fielded products.
- Strong software engineering foundation with expertise in at least one of the following: Python/Rust/Java/Go, including deep expertise in mainstream AI/ML frameworks, libraries, and repositories (e.g., scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, Llama, HuggingFace, etc.)
- Proven track record implementing complex AI/ML systems, including LLMs, time series analysis, anomaly detection, and classification systems.
- Demonstrated ability to locate, evaluate, and adapt cutting-edge AI/ML research into practical, domain-specific solutions.
- Experience building and maintaining AI/ML operations, including pipelines, monitoring, versioning, and deployment in high-reliability environments.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to various stakeholders.
