Own the developer platform roadmap for Procore’s internal engineering organization and AI-era agent ecosystem. Define golden paths for build, test, deployment, infrastructure provisioning, security, compliance, observability, and cost management. Translate developer needs into platform strategy, establish adoption-driving product opinions, and design agent-native interfaces with shared governance and auditability. Partner closely with senior engineers while applying deep infrastructure, developer tooling, SRE, observability, and platform engineering expertise.

We're looking for a Principal Product Manager who thinks like an engineer, advocates for developers, and builds like a founder — to reshape Procore's development platform for the AI era..

In this role you'll shape the future of Procore's development platform by treating our 1,000+ internal developers as your customers, and the developer platform as your product. You'll own the developer platform roadmap. You'll know our developers better than anyone — what they're building, where they stall, what they've stopped bothering to ask for — and you'll turn that into a point of view sharp enough to change what gets built across Procore.

And you'll build it for a second customer almost nobody has designed for yet: the thousands of agents those developers are running. Human in the loop, not human in the driver's seat. That's what makes this rare. Most platform PMs are optimizing a portal. You'll be designing the interface between an engineering organization and its agents — at the exact moment that interface is being invented. Get it right and 1,000 engineers feel it every single day.

This position reports a Group Product Manager and will be based in our Austin, TX office. We're looking for someone to join us immediately.

What you'll own

  • The golden paths. You define them, and you make them so good that going around them stops being tempting. Build, test, and deploy that feels the same whether it's Ruby or Go. Preview environments that just work. Pipelines nobody wants to escape.
  • Infrastructure that answers in minutes. Developers declare what they need; the platform resolves it inside a policy envelope — the right shape, the right region, costed and approved before it exists. You'll turn provisioning into a capability engineers call instead of a request they file.
  • Security and compliance as guardrails, not gates. Experience making security, compliance, or cost a property of the platform rather than a tax on teams — policy as code, automated remediation, spend attributed to the team that spent it.
  • Observability and cost, built in by default. Every service born instrumented and attributed — dashboards and alerts live from day one, spend visible to the team that owns it, and telemetry an agent can reason over whether the question is a 2 a.m. incident or an unexplained jump in spend.
  • The agent-native platform. Typed, discoverable capabilities that people and agents call the same way, through the same gates and the same audit trail. Agents do the toil and bring the proof; humans keep the judgment. Very few product managers get to design this layer right now — you'd be one of them.
  • The opinion. You set the point of view. This is an organization ready for someone to say "this is how we build here" and then back it up with something engineers genuinely want to use.

What we're looking for

  • 8+ years building infrastructure, platform, or developer tools at SaaS scale — with at least one platform you can point at and say "I built that, here's who used it and why."
  • You've been an engineer, architect, SRE, or in DevRel. Close enough to the work that you could do it yourself.
  • Hands-on depth across the modern stack — Kubernetes, IaC, CI/CD, GitOps, secrets — and opinions about which layers deserve abstraction and which deserve exposure.
  • Real observability chops as part of that breadth: OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, metrics and logging pipelines, and the aggregators around them.
  • A track record of being opinionated in public — and the receipts. A path you chose, the people who pushed back, and what adoption looked like a year later.
  • Plugged in outside your own walls — CNCF, platform-engineering communities, the rooms where this is actually being figured out.
  • A working view of how agentic development changes what a platform has to guarantee. Not "we should add AI."
  • The temperament to sit with a skeptical senior engineer, understand their architecture, and co-create the fix. Repeatedly.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
