The Principal Product Manager, Yahoo! Fantasy Plus, will be responsible for the Yahoo Fantasy Plus premium subscription service. They will deliver a compelling end-to-end experience for subscribers and partner with product, design, engineering, business development and marketing teams to drive subscriber growth, improve conversion rates, reduce churn, and increase the value delivered to our subscribers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sports, a deep understanding of fantasy sports, and a drive to build seamless, customer-first paid products that deliver value both for users and for the business.

Responsibilities:

  • End-to-End Product Ownership: Oversee the entire product lifecycle, including prioritization, delivery and iteration based on customer feedback and key performance metrics. This includes creating user stories, managing a backlog and providing peer leadership to cross-functional partners to get things done.

  • Drive Subscriber Growth: In partnership with our business team, execute a comprehensive growth strategy that leverages onboarding experiences, thoughtful conversion experiments and lifecycle marketing to maximize acquisition and retention. Experiment with new offers, pricing models, and promotions that drive conversion and reduce churn.

  • Own the Subscriber Journey: Partner with business, engineering and marketing teams to optimize acquisition, upsells, onboarding, and renewal flows, using segmentation, in-season triggers, and user behavior to personalize the customer experience.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work across different product teams to create great paid experiences throughout the web and mobile applications.

  • Champion AI and Automation: Collaborate with data science and engineering to integrate AI-powered features that simplify roster management and help users win, making Fantasy Plus essential throughout the season.

  • Monitor, Measure, and Optimize: Develop deep expertise on the economics of our subscription product and use that to guide roadmap and strategy. Set goals, analyze user engagement and monetization metrics, and iterate on features to ensure we’re delivering value for both users and the business.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years of product management experience with a focus on consumer products; 3+ years of experience with a direct-to-consumer subscription product.

  • Operating Knowledge: An understanding of how subscription business work - from registration and conversion, through billing and payments, to cancellation and churn mitigation.

  • User-Centric Approach: A customer-first mindset with demonstrable experience delivering value and delight to subscribers while growing the business.

  • Passion for Sports: Our goal is to make sports fans smarter and help fantasy sports players make better decisions. A deep understanding of sports and the various decision points a fantasy player may encounter will be helpful in shaping strategy for our premium subscription product offerings.

  • Cross-Platform Expertise: Proven success in delivering high-quality experiences on both web and in mobile apps.

  • Data Proficiency: Experience leveraging data and user research to guide decision-making and optimize product outcomes.

  • Leadership Capabilities: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to drive alignment across cross-functional teams.

The compensation for this position ranges from $136,125.00 - $283,750.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
