As Principal Product Manager, define and scale Vanta's product platform, aligning teams, mentoring PMs, and driving development of core capabilities.
The summary above was generated by AI

At Vanta, our mission is to help businesses earn and prove trust. We believe that security should be monitored and verified continuously, and we empower companies to practice better security and prove it with ease. Vanta has a kind and talented team, and while some have prior security experience, many have been successful at Vanta without it.

As the Principal Product Manager of Vanta’s Platform teams, you will define and deliver the core capabilities that power all of Vanta’s products: Identity (RBAC, SCIM), Permissions, Enterprise Admin, Collaboration (notifications, tasks, comments), Billing Infrastructure, and other shared product experiences. This is a deeply technical and highly cross-functional role. You’ll define platform strategy in tight partnership with Engineering, Design, and GTM teams, and drive major company-wide initiatives that enable scale, shaping the internal platforms that product teams build on top of, as well as experiences our largest customers rely on every day. You’ll also contribute to the definition of Vanta’s product team culture and processes, while providing mentorship to a growing team of PM’s.

What you’ll do as a Principal Product Manager at Vanta:

  • Own and scale Vanta’s product platform, including identity, permissioning, billing, notifications, audit/event logging, and more

  • Define platform vision and long-term roadmap, ensuring it meets the needs of product teams and customers at scale

  • Drive platform alignment across teams, shaping shared systems that accelerate development and improve consistency

  • Act as DRI for key platform-related business metrics, including:

    • Performance & scalability of the platform for our largest customers

    • Enterprise admin/security experiences (identity, billing, etc.)

    • Collaboration primitives (notifications, tasks, comments)

  • Partner cross-functionally across Engineering, Design, PMM, Sales, and Support to define and deliver seamless platform experiences

  • Mentor and coach PMs working on platform-adjacent areas and contribute to broader product team culture

How to be successful in this role:

  • 15+ years of product management experience, with significant time spent in platform or infrastructure-adjacent teams

  • Deep technical fluency — able to engage in architecture discussions, make system-level tradeoffs, and work closely with senior engineers

  • Experience scaling B2B SaaS platforms from SMB to Enterprise (e.g. identity systems, permissioning, internal tooling, extensible primitives)

  • Proven ability to set product vision and influence strategy across teams or product areas

  • A track record of driving impact through ambiguity — bringing clarity, prioritization, and execution to complex problem spaces

  • Passion for building high quality products with speed, and drive that culture across the organization

  • Strong product instincts, user empathy, and a collaborative working style

  • Proven ability to coach and mentor PMs, helping them translate high-level strategy into actionable team roadmaps.

What you can expect as a Vantan:

  • Industry-competitive compensation

  • 100% covered medical, dental, and vision benefits with dependents coverage

  • 16 weeks fully-paid parental Leave for all new parents

  • Health & wellness and remote workplace stipends

  • Family planning benefits through Carrot Fertility

  • 401(k) matching

  • Flexible work hours and location

  • Open PTO policy

  • 11 paid holidays in the US

  • Offices in SF, NYC, Dublin, and Sydney

To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges for all US-based job postings regardless of state. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors and may vary based on candidate location, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials.

At Vanta, we are committed to hiring diverse talent of different backgrounds and as such, it is important to us to provide an inclusive work environment for all. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender identity, age, religion, sexual orientation, veteran or disability status, or any other protected class. As an equal opportunity employer, we encourage and welcome people of all backgrounds to apply.

About Vanta

We started in 2018, in the wake of several high-profile data breaches. Online security was only becoming more important, but we knew firsthand how hard it could be for fast-growing companies to invest the time and manpower it takes to build a solid security foundation. Vanta was inspired by a vision to restore trust in internet businesses by enabling companies to improve and prove their security. From our early days automating security monitoring for compliance standards like SOC 2, HIPAA and ISO 27001 to creating the world's leading Trust Management Platform, our vision remains unchanged.

Now more than ever, making security continuous—not just a point-in-time check— is essential. Thousands of companies rely on Vanta to build, maintain and demonstrate their trust— all in a way that's real-time and transparent.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
