Distributed Cloud Principal Product Manager (DNS)
Position Summary:
F5 is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Product Manager to lead the strategy, development, and execution of our Distributed Cloud SaaS Platform with a focus on DNS, Load Balancing (LB), and DNS-based offerings. This role is critical in driving the vision and roadmap for F5’s next-generation cloud-native solutions, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of our customers and align with the company’s strategic goals.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with deep expertise in DNS, load balancing, and cloud-native technologies, coupled with a strong customer-centric mindset. You will collaborate closely with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer success teams to deliver innovative, scalable, and reliable solutions that empower businesses to optimize their application delivery and security in distributed environments.
Primary Responsibilities:
Product Strategy and Vision:
- Define and articulate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for F5’s Distributed Cloud SaaS Platform, with a focus on DNS, Load Balancing, and DNS-based offerings.
- Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive differentiators to inform product decisions.
- Align product goals with F5’s broader business objectives and cloud strategy.
Customer-Centric Product:
- Engage directly with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to gather insights and validate product requirements.
- Translate customer pain points and business needs into clear, actionable product requirements and user stories.
- Ensure the platform delivers exceptional user experiences, scalability, and reliability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineering teams to prioritize features, manage backlogs, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Partner with UX/UI designers to create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, and customer success teams to develop go-to-market strategies, enablement materials, and customer adoption programs.
Technical Expertise:
- Serve as the subject matter expert for DNS, Load Balancing, and related technologies within the organization.
- Stay abreast of industry advancements in cloud-native architectures, DNS protocols, and application delivery technologies.
- Provide guidance on technical feasibility, trade-offs, and implementation strategies.
Metrics and Performance:
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of the product and drive continuous improvement.
- Analyze product usage data, customer feedback, and market trends to iterate on the product roadmap.
Thought Leadership:
- Represent F5 as a domain expert at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings.
- Contribute to thought leadership through blogs, whitepapers, and other content that showcases F5’s innovation in DNS and load balancing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
-Experience:
- 8+ years of product management experience, with a focus on cloud-native platforms, SaaS, or networking technologies.
- Proven track record of delivering successful products in the DNS, Load Balancing, or application delivery space.
- Strong understanding of DNS protocols (e.g., DNS over HTTPS, DNSSEC), load balancing algorithms, and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience working with distributed systems, microservices, and containerized environments (e.g., Kubernetes).

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with F5’s product portfolio or similar technologies (e.g., DNS, NGINX, AWS Route 53, Azure Traffic Manager).
- Familiarity with security concepts related to DNS and application delivery (e.g., DDoS protection, Zero Trust).
- Knowledge of global traffic management (GTM) and content delivery networks (CDNs).

The annual base pay for this position is: $195,823.00 - $293,735.00F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
