Role
We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our Endpoint Engineering team. This is a hybrid or remote role, which could be based in our San Jose, CA office or remotely in the United States, reporting to the Sr. Manager, Software Development Engineering in the Endpoint Engineering department. You will join the team that built the world’s largest cloud security platform from the ground up and shape the future of mobile security services, affecting millions of users globally. You will help organizations worldwide harness speed and agility with a cloud-first strategy through your vision and technical expertise.
What you’ll do (Role Expectations)
Develop Windows Device Drivers, primarily Network Filter and Windows Filtering Platform drivers, to intercept network traffic
Improve code quality and build solid, testable, and well-documented features
Make significant contributions to the design and implementation of major development projects while partnering with product managers to deliver customer-impacting features
Act as the domain expert for the Client platform, collaborating with internal teams to resolve complex customer deployment issues

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
10+ years of software engineering experience with expertise in C and C++, Windows internals, kernel-mode programming, and network protocols
Proficiency in low-level Windows driver development, particularly network drivers, with strong debugging skills for network-related problems
Comprehensive understanding of L2/L3 networking protocols and services, including DNS, DHCP, HTTP, TCP/IP, and SSL/TLS
Demonstrated skill in writing high-quality, well-documented code with low complexity and excellent programming practices
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Professional experience developing for macOS, Android, iOS, or Linux
Familiarity with Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM)

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.
