  • Lead supplier qualification and benchmarking for performance, cost, quality, risk, and innovation potential.
  • Work closely with business units to forecast sourcing needs for BESS systems and execute sourcing plans that support project delivery timelines and schedules.
  • Develop and apply a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) framework to evaluate supply opportunities, optimize levelized cost of energy (LCOE), and maximize project returns.

Supplier & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead global supplier relationships, fostering long-term strategic partnerships with battery OEMs, integrators, and technology innovators.
  • Act as the key interface between internal technical, engineering, project, operations, and finance teams to align sourcing decisions with business objectives.
  • Promote innovation and collaboration with suppliers to enhance competitiveness, quality, operations, reliability, and sustainability.
  • Communicate sourcing strategies, key risks, and opportunities across stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Support global procurement initiatives and corporate sourcing objectives, ensuring consistency with enterprise-wide supply chain strategies.

Contracting & Negotiation

  • Lead negotiation of complex commercial terms and Master Supply Agreements (MSAs), Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSAs), and project-specific contracts.
  • Collaborate closely with legal, technical, and project management teams to structure risk-balanced, bankable agreements.
  • Manage ongoing supplier relationships to ensure contract compliance, performance improvement, and continuous value creation.

Technical & Market Expertise

  • Maintain strong understanding of battery technologies (Li-ion, LFP, flow, hybrid systems) and integration with renewable generation.
  • Analyze market trends, technology shifts, and supply chain dynamics to inform sourcing strategies and cost curves.
  • Support project feasibility and design optimization through cost modeling and technical inputs on sourcing alternatives.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Legal, or related field (Master’s degree and Engineering preferred).
  • 8 -12 years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement of renewable energy infrastructure equipment with at least 4 years of BESS experience.

  • Knowledgeable of US safe harbor, tariffs, FEOC/material assistance, UFLPA, and tax equity financing requirements.
  • Ability to manage across multiple global time zones and availability to travel as needed to supplier sites and project locations.
  • Strong knowledge of technical, operational, market, and financial drivers for utility-scale and standalone storage projects.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently across time zones.
  • High analytical capability, commercial judgement, and comfort managing ambiguity in evolving markets.
