About this role

We’re seeking a Procurement and Strategic Sourcing Manager with deep experience in managing complex sourcing initiatives, vendor negotiations, and RFP processes across technology and software categories. This role will be instrumental in establishing a world-class procurement and sourcing foundation—building the right processes, systems, and governance frameworks to support enterprise-level decision-making and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will also have experience supporting M&A activities, particularly in vendor and contract integration.

What you’ll do

  • Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives across software, IT services, SaaS, infrastructure, and professional services categories.
  • Own and execute competitive RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs with clear sourcing strategies and success metrics.
  • Design and implement scalable procurement processes and systems that support compliance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Evaluate, select, and manage procurement tools and technologies to support end-to-end sourcing and contract lifecycle management.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Security, IT, and Business stakeholders to align on requirements, risk tolerances, and performance goals.
  • Lead complex vendor negotiations—pricing, contract terms, SLAs, renewals—with a focus on driving optimal value.
  • Build and maintain a preferred vendor portfolio with clear KPIs, governance standards, and performance tracking.
  • Analyze spend trends and identify savings opportunities, cost avoidance, and process improvements.
  • Support M&A initiatives through vendor consolidation, contract rationalization, and integration planning.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of market dynamics, emerging technologies, and procurement best practices in the tech/software landscape.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, controls, and regulatory requirements.

What we’re looking for

  • 10+ years of procurement, sourcing, or vendor management experience—ideally in a high-growth company.
  • Proven track record leading complex RFPs and vendor negotiations across IT and software categories.
  • Experience building or overhauling procurement operations, including process design and system implementation.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience negotiating SaaS and enterprise software agreements.
  • Familiarity with Procure-to-Pay (P2P) automation tools and AI-enabled procurement solutions for driving efficiency and insights.
  • Demonstrated experience in M&A activities, including vendor contract review, consolidation, and post-acquisition integration planning.
  • Ability to translate business needs into sourcing strategies and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Familiarity with contract terms and risk management in technology agreements (e.g., SLAs, data privacy, security).
  • Experience using AI first procurement tools and systems
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field. Procurement certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) a plus.
As a remote position, the salary range for this role is:
$120,000$130,000 USD

Total Rewards

Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal equity.

Salary is just one component of Transcarent's total package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock options.

Our benefits and perks programs include, but are not limited to:

  • Competitive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Competitive 401(k) Plan with a generous company match
  • Flexible Time Off/Paid Time Off, 12 paid holidays
  • Protection Plans including Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, and Supplemental Insurance
  • Mental Health and Wellness benefits

Location

You must be authorized to work in the United States. Depending on the position we may have a preference to a specific location, but are generally open to remote work anywhere in the US.

Transcarent is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. If you are a person with a disability and require assistance during the application process, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Research shows that candidates from underrepresented backgrounds often don’t apply unless they meet 100% of the job criteria. While we have worked to consolidate the minimum qualifications for each role, we aren’t looking for someone who checks each box on a page; we’re looking for active learners and people who care about disrupting the current health and care with their unique experiences.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
