The Job The Product Compliance Officer will report to the Director of Product Compliance and support Best Egg’s Product Compliance functions. This role helps ensure that Best Egg’s products and services operate within regulatory risk tolerances by providing compliance guidance across new product development, marketing, and operational initiatives.
The Product Compliance Officer serves as a key partner to Product, Engineering, Risk, Legal, and Operations teams, ensuring that Best Egg’s loan products are designed, marketed, and maintained in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal risk standards. This role enables innovation while managing regulatory risk, supporting the company’s mission to provide transparent, responsible, and customer-centric financial products. The ideal candidate will have experience in regulatory compliance with knowledge of consumer protection laws (UDAAP, ECOA, TILA, FDCPA, TCPA, FCRA, GLBA/CCPA, etc.).
While this is an individual contributor role, it requires strong cross-functional collaboration to ensure products and services comply with relevant laws and best practices.
A central focus of this position is providing hands-on compliance support throughout the product lifecycle; from early-stage concepting and design, through launch, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance. The role will also contribute to monitoring and assessing customer complaints for product-related issues, helping identify trends, root causes, and opportunities to strengthen controls and customer outcomes.
Product & Marketing Compliance:
· Provide regulatory guidance on compliance requirements for new and existing products, ensuring adherence to consumer finance protection laws.
· Support compliance reviews of marketing materials, disclosures, customer communications, and website content to ensure fair and transparent practices.
· Participate in risk assessments for product changes, new initiatives, and emerging compliance risks.
· Assist with policy and procedure development related to product compliance, disclosures, and marketing practices.
Complaint Oversight & Trend Analysis:
· Monitor complaint data to identify trends, emerging risks, and product-specific issues, escalating concerns as appropriate.
· Contribute to the development and reporting of KRIs and other compliance metrics tied to product performance and customer outcomes.
· Prepare and support complaint trend reporting for internal stakeholders and bank partners, ensuring clear, accurate compliance insights.
Regulatory Engagement & Issue Resolution:
· Support internal and external compliance reviews by preparing documentation for bank partners, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
· Assist in compliance issue management, helping to identify, document, and remediate potential compliance concerns in product and operational processes.
· Monitor regulatory developments and industry trends related to consumer compliance and financial crimes risks.
Requirements
· 5+ years of experience in compliance advisory, risk management, or control functions within a bank, fintech, or financial services company.
· Knowledge of consumer financial product regulations, including UDAAP, ECOA, TILA, FDCPA, TCPA, FCRA, and GLBA/CCPA.
· Ability to analyze compliance risks, propose practical solutions, and document compliance decisions in a clear and defensible manner.
· Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with product, marketing, risk, and legal teams.
· Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required: CRCM or similar certification preferred.
